Babysitting is babysitting...the older the child is the more you will have to hassle with them. They are young and can fall asleep early. $12 is not too bad considering that minimum wage is less than double that. Plus, you won't be flipping burgers!

Wow, you get $12.00 an hour for babysitting? I charge $20.00 a day. You shouldn't have any trouble babysitting children that age. I used to babysit two 1 year olds, and a one month old. Now, they're older and I watch a 5 year old, two 4 year olds, and a 2 year old. For awhile I also had a one year old. Occasionally I babysit my neice and nephew on top of them. She's 4 and he's 6 months.

It all depends on how often you've been around kids and what you can handle.

Did I mention that I have 3 children of my own from age 7-9?

If you ask for more money, then they will just simply give the job to someone else. Take the job. 12 dollars an hour is better than zero dollars an hour, hun!

No, I don't think it will be that difficult taking care of two children at the same time. I was babysitting two babies at the same time when I was just barely 16 years old, and I was only making 40 dollars and week and watching the kids for 40 hours a week.

I hope you have lots of patience and you love children.

Cheers

I watched 3 kids for 3 years..... and never made 12 dollars an hour... i made alot less.... its not hard to babysit, but if you think it would be difficult you might wanna take some sort of classes to prepare you.... There are things that will come along with the job, like babies tend to choke on food, eat stuff they are not supposed to, or they fall and get hurt..... Just make sure u know what your doing.. but 12 dollars an hour is more then enough.

you might have a few problems because of the fact the one month old will need constant attention but then again the two year old will probably need to be entertained. if your not comfortable doing that then don't. the pay is good. i normally charge $5 per kid per hour, it'll keep the people coming back to you for more babysitting jobs and they might even tell their friends. so the pay isn't that bad. the only thing would be are you ready to handle both those little kids at the same time? only do it if you feel comfortable and confident with it...

Um really? $12/hr. First of all, aside from feeding and burping and a little play time the newborn should take care of themselves. As for the 2 year, in my experience, they love the idea of helping take care of someone younger and smaller. I don't think it should be difficult at all. It might take a little getting used to but heck for $12/hr. You could make a lot less than that and get stuck with children that are the spawn of the devil.
Good luck!!!

The one month old will sleep alot. The only hard part would be when the two year old wants something and the baby is crying at the same time. Spend lots of one on one with the toddler while the baby sleeps... I thnk $12 an hour is lots

ask the mom if the 1 month will sleep the whole time she's gone. and Won't the 2 year old play a little and then it will be bedtime? I sat with a 5 and 7 and it was all day. I tell you I earned my $. I cooked, I bathed the kinder, watched them outdoors, played a movie, stopped a fight....

you should have a good time with a toddler as long as you know how to amuse and calm down that age child.Happy days

Baby sitting 2 kids at the same time isn't that hard....but I guess it depends on when you're sitting them, for how long your sitting them, and what kinds of kids they are. The 1 month old should be easy. Basically all you'll need to do is change diapers. As for the 2 year old, it really will depend on what kind of kid they are and when you're going to be sitting. If you're gonna be sitting while the parents go out, basically all you should be doing is putting them to bed, feeding them dinner, etc.

$12/hr is a great rate.....it's much better than what you'll get in most places. Go for it.....obviously if they trust you enough to sit their 1 month old, you're great at it!

Good luck and have fun!

When the one month old hits 5 months old and starts being more work, then ask for more money. As for right now, the baby will sleep most of the time and you should be easily able to care for the children. Once the baby starts being awake a whole lot, needing fed baby food, and crawling... that's where I would demand more money.
