There is a difference between high self esteem, and pride. Nothing wrong with feeling good about yourself, and your accomplishments, that's a motivation to go further. But "pride" is traditionally associated with things like being boastful, and feeling good about yourself at the expense of another. It's one of the 7 deadlies, and the one that caused Lucifer to fall from Grace. Given that definition, it doesn't.

Pride can be use as a tool to be advance in spiritual first. The more you do it better, you want to do it more. Then later the pride must be leave for it must surrender to Love which is greater than pride.

in general, it is not high on the scale of spiritual measure, but as with anything it all depends where you are coming from, things are complex, and not always black and white-
humility- inclusion and oneness is the highest-
however, when striving to become these things- self love, absolute self esteem and confidence are paramount
was not the Buddha self secure? was not Jesus the most loving but humble....
the definition of pride seems to take on an egoic - "i'm in it for myself " sense.... that is the exact opposite to that of spiritual self esteem- i am strong because of my connection to ALL

To allow "self" to arise in our consciousness is to be attached to "self". This term "Self" precludes others.
Pride is a manifestation of "self".
It does not fit into the Spiritual Landscape.
Release Pride by releasing "self", to release "self" realise the illusion of selfishness as a source of happiness and the truth of "self"lessness as its true source.
The practise begins with impermanence, all experience is thus. It ends in happiness, all practise ends thus. Begin with Pride.
Peace from a Buddhist....

Pride is a virtue in that if you do not expect great things from your self you most surely will never accomplish great things.

True pride is recognizing your own worth and integrity. True humility is recognizing that all beings possess this undeniable worth and integrity. (thanks Seth)
False pride tells you that you are better than others. False humility tells you that you are nothing/unworthy.
Both kinds 'fit into the spiritual landscape' as lessons, insights, and realizations, but I can't really tell you exactly how it fits into your unique spiritual landscape. Just know that it fits.

Pride is like a selfish child. It must be cared for tenderly, but corrected.
Love all parts of yourself, but do not indulge all parts. Then you will understand compassion.
