I'm heading to Rome next week for 7 days... besides the obvious, anyone have recommendations of what I can see/do? Good places to eat on a budget? Where are the fair priced grocery stores? Is it expensive to take a bus to Florence for the day?

Finally, can I get a cab at Termini if I'm coming in late at night?

THANKS!

I;m very jealous, it's a lovely time to go, Rome will be filled with flowers on the porches and at the Campo dei Fiore (a plaza that is a flower mart...you might want to go there, it's on the map).

After dinner. sit in the Piazza Navona, have a gelato for dessert and watch the beautiful women and girls walk about. I';m a woman and not gay and I still find this fascinating... it's the price of an (expensive ) gelato to watch a great fashion show!

I just love walking around Tras Tevere and stopping in a little trattoria off the main street for food... no particular place.

I'm sure you will go to the top of the Spanish Steps and look across the city anyway...but just in case it's not on the agenda.....put it there!

ENJOY!!!!

There is this restaurant near the Pantheon, actually if you stand and look directly in front of the Pantheon it is down one of the streets to the left. I think there are several streets on that side so I just looked up my pictures and here is the name of the restaurant. LA SACRESTIA RISTORANTE
The pizza is the best ever! I would give anything for a slice now :) I think it is family owned which makes it a nicer experience.
