Being a former chef from Canada, I have consumed and used in in cooking and in desserts, it is a bit rough straight, but mixed in drinks some with apple juice like mulled ciders or toddys.

In cooking I used with pork as apples and pork go so well together, chicken and veal too, desserts like tarte tatan, poached apples with apple sorbet and even in a good ole apple pie, the alchol burns or cooks out but it does impart and certain flavour.

If you add it to your fruit and mix some raisins, and nuts into it it makes an interesting apple pie or struedel. It can be added to fresh fruits like strawberries and raspberrys when making a romanoff.

Look for Calvados du Pays d'Auge, that's the highest quality you can get...
