My child came to understand his sin when he was three and another of my sons when he was four. It is amazing that small
children can understand their sin and need of repentance and
"intelligent adults" seem to have a very difficult time grasping it. Is there some kind of imbalance in that?

I believe God is merciful to those who are mentally handicapped. There is however one thing most people will never consider in that particular instance. Since God speaks
Spirit to spirit it is possible that a mentally handicapped person could be given the ability to understand God from a spiritual perspective. That remains to be seen in Heaven.
Same with the uneducated. Some of the so-called uneducated are better off because simple faith is all that is required to know and love God. Those who thrive on their intellectual development and superior thinking are handicapped when it comes to exercising simple faith.

God deals with individuals. What all of us need to do is find out how He is dealing with us. Nobody can be saved for us, so it is our responsibility to get right with God so we can be the biggest benefit to the human race we can possibly be which in turn will bring the honor and glory and praise to God that He so richly deserves from all His creation..

This question has been around for ages. It bothered me too when I was deciding to become a Christian many years ago. I knew that having heard the gospel, I needed to respond to Jesus Christ. Do I reject or accept the gift of salvation? My response was to do what was right concerning my situation - I needed to accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour.

However, what about those who cannot and don't know about Jesus Christ? The bible does not really reveal the answer this question directly. However, I feel that we should not choose to accept or reject Jesus Christ based on whether questions such as these are answered to our satisfaction. For all we know, God has a perfectly acceptable answer which is just simply not revealed to us.

However, this is my understanding of the matter. That God is a good God. He is a righteous God. I know this to be true because He died for me on the cross. I believe that regarding these people, (and I say I believe, not factually but it ties in with everything that I know about God), just prior to the point of death, Jesus will give them an expanded or healed intellectual capacity to understand the gospel. Somehow the gospel will be presented to them (in their dream or something like that), and I believe (again I say I believe only) that everyone of these will believe and be saved and be able to go to heaven. I believe this because if you read the gospels, you will see repeatedly Jesus says that Heaven will be full of children. Jesus had a special affinity for children.

Let GOD be there judge.as many have said they dont know.i too dont know.are u saved??

John 3:16[kjv] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

so when we believe in JESUS we have eternal life.JESUS lived a sinless life and gave up his life as a sacrifice so we can be sin free. Ask JESUS to come into your heart and forgive ur sins and cleanse ur past with his blood.

With a simple prayer like above u can be saved.JESUS loves u and wants u to be saved.

As a Christian, I believe that God takes pity on those who can't help it. Though the Bible says we go to Hell if we don't accept Jesus as our savior, God's not likely to condemn a little child a handicapped person to eternal damnation and pain.

Many churches teach that death is merely a change of substance--that an individual actually lives on, just in another realm. That is not --however-- taught in the Bible itself:

"You will ... return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return." --Genesis 3:19

"All that your hand finds to do, do with your very power, for there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in She′ol [Hebrew for 'the common grave of mankind'],
the place to which you are going." --Ecclesiastes 9:10

"The soul that is sinning will itself die." --Ezekiel 18:4

Hell --as in hellFIRE-- only exists in myths & church dogmas. The old English phrase: "helling potatoes", simply means to store them underground or in a cellar, having nothing at all to do with either cooking or incinerating them.

What Has Happened to Hellfire? - What Really Is Hell?

So...
What *does* happen to people when they die?
Do they have *any* future?

Those who *have Not --with Full Knowledge--* despised God,

He has plans to resurrect back to earthly life during the millenial reign of Christ Jesus, when the earth will once again be made an actual Paradise, & mankind will become as they were originally intended... Happy, Healthy & Whole! These will include ones who died faithful to God (such as Abel, Abraham, Joseph, etc)--as well as millions who never had the chance to even hear about the God of the Bible, let alone to learn about him! Yes, this will also include those who were mentally handicapped, too young to understand, and those who were lied to about who God really is, &, what he really stands for (thereby having the wrong understanding of him altogether).

- - Resurrection to Life in Heaven--For Whom?
- - Who Will Be Resurrected to Life on Earth?
http://watchtower.org/e/20060315/article_01.htm

During that Millenial Reign, all of mankind will be educated (including those resurrected) as to what God's righteous principles are, & how to uphold them...

This is what Jehovah has said, your Repurchaser, the Holy One of Israel: “I, Jehovah, am your God, the One teaching you to BENEFIT [yourself], the One causing you to tread in the way in which you should walk. O if only you would actually pay attention to my commandments! Then your peace would become just like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea. And your offspring would become just like the sand, and the descendants from your inward parts like the grains of it. One’s name would not be cut off or be annihilated from before me.” --Isaiah 48:17-19

"For this is what the love of God means, that we observe his commandments; and yet his commandments are *not burdensome*..." --1 John 5:3

Consider --if you will-- what this will entail for all who voluntarily cooperate in these endeavors:

The Marvelous New World of God's Making:
- Righteousness Replaces Wickedness
- Perfect health Restored
- The Dead Return
- A Truly Peaceful World [even between man & beast!]
- Earth Transformed Into a Paradise
- Undoing the Past ... http://watchtower.org/library/dg/index.htm?article=article_10.htm

God's Kingdom will more than make up for *all* the suffering mankind has *ever*endured... Even for those who --due to circumstances-- were unable to take a stand either way, before their having initially died!

“The Meek Shall Inherit the Earth”--How?
http://watchtower.org/e/20041001/article_02.htm

So... "Do Christians go to hell [at death]?"

Actually,
--as in "the common grave of mankind"-- everyone does;
--as in hellfire-- NO... but then, No One goes there anyways, since it does not exist!

God is the judge. If they are capable enough to do evil, why couldn't they be capable of doing good? If they can embrace sin they bear the responsibility for it.

God takes everything into consideration when He judges you. In the Bible it says that we will see people in Heaven who we never would have suspected. So thats not our problem--we should not be asking the question WHO will get to Heaven but will WE get to Heaven?

Mentally challenged will go to heaven and they are going to be well in heaven. All people who are not reached the age of accountability will go to heaven, that includes all the mentally ill and also people who have never heard of Jesus. : )
