My husband thinks Mayweather will spank De La Hoya. I just watched HBO on demand and I didn't like how Mayweather portrayed himself. I liked De La Hoya he seamed down to earth and all about the sport. Not like Mayweather who was flaunting money, bad mouthing his dad, gambling and acting like a punk. I'm going to watch that fight tomorrow and I bet my husband $20.00 that De La Hoya will win. He thinks Mayweather will win because he is a better fighter. What do you think?? Serious fight fans only reply please.

I bet my husband $20.00 for fun. I'm not interested in big betting.

My pick is Mayweather on points, but I will be cheering for ODLH. I wouldn't be shocked if ODLH won, but I really doubt it.

Pernell Whitaker gave De La Hoya Hell while De La Hoya was young and unbeaten. Many think Whitaker lost due to a bad judges' decision. Whitaker was an old worn out (sorry to say this about him) coke head at the time of the fight. But it was his style that De La Hoya could not handle. But Pernell didn't land as many shots and few hard shots. A guy came along with a similar style, who could hit named Shane Mosley. Shane Mosley as we all know beat De La Hoya. De La Hoya had a chance to adjust and rematch, he lost again. He just can't beat that particular style. Is De La Hoya an all time great? Hell yeah he is. But you have to face facts, Mayweather has a similar style to that of Whitaker and Mosley, the question is, can he throw enough punches to win. I say "Yes he can". I don't think there will be a KO, but I believe Mayweather will take a unanimous decision. And in my opinion, De La Hoya hasn't beaten a big name since 2002 versus Fernando Vargas. 5 years is a long time, especially in boxing. I predict Mayweather in 12, then Golden Boy Promotions will try to sign him into their stable of fighters.

I have $5 on the line vs Flif (another Top 10 answerer here). But her and I are just betting for fun also. I have my opinion, she has hers. In the end, either way, we'll still be friends.

Yeah, I feel you, I've been looking at the Mayweather and de la hoya 24/7 thing and I just didn't like how Mayweather has an attitude of "I'm on top of the world, I run this" as oppose to De La Hoya who still has time for his family and still put his family first, how a fighter, or just a man in general should be. So I definitely hoping De La Hoya kicks Mayweather's butt

This fight looks like it will turn out like PBF's last fight against Carlos Baldomir. De La Hoya will look to land his left hook for 12 rounds while PBF rolls away from Golden Boy's power shots and throws counter punch combos. I hate to say it but Mayweather is going to win a BORING 12 round decision.

I'd rather see De La Hoya win by a late round KO, but that will only happen if Oscar can land that left.

Floyd Mayweather all the way by decision! Mayweather (37-0, 24 KOs), one of the most gifted fighters to ever step between the ropes.

De La Hoya is a soft pretty boi painter/singer who has never been in a street fight. All of his fights he has rigged them by paying them off. Maywheather is a tough boxer with swagger sort of like a younger version of Roy Jones. I think Maywheather will knock de la hoya into retirement.

I want Oscar also for many of the reasons you stated. Mayweather is way too cocky for my taste. But give him credit, he has made himself to be the evil one in this fight generating a real interest in this fight. If I were you I'd double the bet.

mayweather won... he shouldnt have! This announcer interviewed oscar after the fight and said " now oscar, you know you won this fight , how do you feel that they gave it to mayweather?"..............................mayweather was smilling during the fight.. when oscar would have him in the corner, mayweathers eyes would open up wide like he was scared... mayweather talked all that BS but he still didnt do what he said he was gonna do... oscars face was CLEAN! not one scratch! mayweather had a swollen eyebrow and a cut on his cheek. Mayweather is such a punk... he came in as a joke.. he came in wearing mexican colors with 50 cent rapping live.
Honestly i think oscar should have won it.

o yea.. oscar has a beautiful wife!
and OMG! TOBEY MAGUIRE WAS THERE!! SOOOO SEXY! lol
