Only one European Communist nation officially outlawed religion, and it was Enver Hoxha's overgrown insane asylum of Albania.

Reagan was out of office by the time any tangible move toward free markets in the East was made.

Communism as practiced in the Soviet Union was more of a replacement for religion than a true atheism.

And communist systems aren't dead, although there are really only three remaining examples.

no person claims Reagan gained the chilly conflict or led to the cave in of the Soviet Union by skill of himself. No sane individual believes had Jimmy Carter gained reelection the Soviet Union could have collapsed interior of 50 years. The Soviet Union might have been unsustainable, yet merely whilst it replaced into being pushed by skill of the mixed forces and wills of Reagan & Thatcher. The deployment of Pershing and cruise missiles in Europe in the face of intensive international huge opposition, the U.S. militia buildup, the SDI initiative, the U.S. help of Soviet, Polish & Czech dissidents, the U.S. help for the mujahideen in Afghanistan, the U.S. help of the liberty combatants in Nicaragua vs the Soviet subsidized Daniel Ortega, all labored to stymie and examine the Soviets at each turn. Carter does no longer have undertaken any of those projects. Reagan's willingness to call out the Soviets and act against then went against the classic Beltway understanding, whether it scared the hell out of the Soviets.

Athesism is choosing to not believe in a God or higher power..The Soviet Union was a major place for Communisim (mighta spelled that wrong) which is a political/social state that isnt tied to your belief system. The Soviet union was then and still is a country where many different religions such as Judasim and different Christian based religions exist.
(oh and not even Communisim ended with the collapse of the Soviet Union. It exists in other countries)

Atheism is about not believing in the existence of a god or gods - it is a theological question while Communism is about the abolition of private property and Capitalism - it's an economics question.

So before you post something, better review your facts first or people will accuse you of building a straw man argument against atheism.

Of course not. Atheism was around long before Communism, and will be around as long as people can think for themselves. The two are unrelated, except that some atheists are Communists (and some are not), just as some Christians are Republicans (and some are not).

Communism has nothing to do with atheism. Communism is an economic philosophy and atheism is just a lack of belief in gods. But communism has numerous similarities to christinanity though.

Actually, a lot of Russians/Eastern Europeans are Christian (Orthodox)... and many are Jewish. Atheism and Communism aren't in the least bit related (at least not necessarily).

You state two fallacies in one question..

Atheism is alive and well. The USSR collapsed on it's own due to money problems.

Nope.
Anyone who can think rationally, without the influence of brainwashing, will eventually realize that there is no god.
It's inevitable.
