bring to remembrance those thing that are true, those thing that up lift, those thing that have been a blessing to you, and praise God for them.

Dear AD,
First be encouraged that your desire to return to the Lord is evidence of the work of the Holy Spirit in your life.
i would suggest some counseling from your Pastor or whatever ministry of that sort is available from your church- because it seems that there may be some issues that need healing and ressolving.
Perhaps also starting small by attending a Bible Study will help. You'll be able to study the Bible in a safe environment and more than that, God's word is pure and sweet and it will do a work within you.
i think the Bible also tells us whatever things are pure, lovely, etc. meditate on these things.
It's a very complicated and loaded question. Feel free to email me and tell me a little bit more and i can offer any kind of help i can. i'll definitely pray for you.
Kindly,
Nickster

What you should do is stop and think about the difference in you spiritual now and then. Then you should figure out what you want you spiritual life to be like and identify the things that are hindering you from having the spiritual life you want and work at removing them from your life. It's a process depended on what really hindering you it may take a while just keep praying. Sometimes god lets things get shaken up in our lifes in order to bring us closer.

Try simplifying your spiritual life. Instead of trying to pray 3 times a day, just pray once and say just one prayer (the Our Father, for example). The most important thing is to keep your eyes open for opportunities to show love to others - this is what it means to be spiritual, so try to show love and your heart will start beating again.

The only thing permanent is change. A child must grow, likewise your awareness.
In this journey back home to God, we stumble and fall so often. However, what makes the difference is how quickly we pick ourselves up and continue with the journey.
This could be a wakeup call, an honest re-assessment of your relationship with God.

Most religions have something positive in them:that's why we should be free to search for the greatest one!
How to judge a religion?
Easy:be like a child,with a child's mind.
When you were a child, and you had to choose an apple and a rabbit, what would you choose to eat?
The answer is:you would just love to play with the rabbit and eat the delicious apple!
Children of all countries love to play with each other, and even if they fight,it's for fun,and they become friends very easily after fighting.
Adults,on the contrary, invent dreadful weapons to harm each other, just to make money or to cause pain.
They even put in children's hands real guns,in order to acheive their goals of dominion by division.
Give a child a cigarette, alcool, meat etc and he will immediately refuse,as he instinctively know its bad!
But due to addiction, adults carry on taking these things even if they see the damage done to other people or themselves.

AD, it is terrible and unfortunate what happened to you.
For this, it is deeper than what we can say on here.
Please see your Pastor, or a Pastor, with his wife or another female!
I feel it is important as you have been so hurt, and need some Spiritual counseling for you to move on to deeper grounds and roots in the Lord.
I will pray for you now.

whatever happens, try to maintain your course in the path of God.A man is not perfected without trials. A gem is not polished without rubbing.Gold is not purified without being melted in fire. With the grace of God, go on and continue bearing the raised flag for God.
The greatest glory is in not never falling but in rising everytime we fall.

Um...
You can get back to the way you were by not going to church anymore... by reuniting with the friends who wisely advised you against praying and the rest of the god-belief nonsense... and then you can remain honest and true to yourself and other reasonable thinking individuals by living "happily ever after" in the real world.
Good luck to you.
