No, Jr fans are blind and very poor with math. For some reason, to them, 0 is larger than 4 and 17 is a larger number than 77.
Sr. was a great driver, but even he never did things that Gordon did:
10+ wins for 3 straight years, (while racing head to head against Sr. ) For those Jr fans, that was 33 wins in 3 years, or 16 more wins in 3 years than Jr has won in 6+ years.
4 straight Southern 500s. (winning the Winston million the hard way)
Of course all the road course victories, (Sr. had 1)

Lets not forget, the majority of Gordon's wins came when he was racing against Sr. 1993-2000.

Ok. First Kurt Busch stole that championship, first season in the chase will probably go down as the season where Nascar Fd up the points system the most. Secondly how can Jr suck. You listed 5 drivers with Championships and/or compatible wins. 5 out of a possible field of 50. So that would put Jr. in the 6-10 ranking. Thats not sucking. Is he a great driver? I dunno people say Johnson isnt a great driver, no one says Busch is a great driver. Peopl compare him to his dad, and yes Jr. will never be the driver his father was but that doesnt mean he isnt good. There are plenty of other drivers in the field who warrant being labled "sucking" and Jr isnt one of them.

And im a Johnson fan too.

What you don't seem to understand is that Earnhardt fans have existed for as long as NASCAR has been around.

Chasing championships to most is a fleeting moment in time. To the Earnhardts, it simply their lives and it is eternal.

I would advise Gordon and all the others to win as many championships as possible because Earnhardts will be chasing championships until NASCAR no longer exists.

But the Earnhardts will be racing something somewhere.

The Fourth generation Earnhardt is racing in the Grand National East Division as a HS junior. Kerry's son, Dale's grandson and Raplh's great grandson.

Sooner or later the Earnhardts will be back on top and I think Dale Jr can do it. It doesn't matter to me as long as he drives with heart.

It all boils down to this, given the choice of pulling for any of the whiners or the jackass, out of today's crop of drivers, I chose class and Earnhardt is my choice, jackass!

I detect a hint of jealously that NASCAR's most popular current driver and the sports biggest icon are named Earnhardt!

Earnhardt Nation isn't going anywhere; we are in it for the long haul. In thirty years, Gordon, Johnson, Stewart and all the rest will be history and everyone will be wondering if an Earnhardt will win come Sunday.

Catch all you Newbies later.

OK, Grant it, Jr hasn't won the cup. But he does have 2 Busch titles, and they were back to back. Mark Martin drove all these years and he is the greatest champion that never was. Cale Yarborough, probably the most under rated driver in Nascar started racing basically in 1959, it wasnt until 1976 that he won his first championship, then he is the only driver to take it 3 times in a row, something NO driver has ever done. Buddy Baker only had 19 wins, no championships, but he is considered to be one of the greatest drivers to ever race in Nascar. Harry Gant, 2 Busch titles, highest he's ever finished in Cup was 4th, but he won 4 races in a row that would forever dub him as Mr September. Do we take away his accompishments because he never won a cup title?
Jr by all means is still young in his career, he has 17 wins and an Avg finish of 16.2. He is in his 8th year as a cup driver. 2004 Jr was a threat to win the title, 2005 they take his cars and his team away, and till finished ahead of Waltrip in the standings, in crap cars. And if I recall, Wonderboy didnt do to good that year either. 2006 Jr again was a threat for the championship and was still able to win it going into the last race.
By all facts and if we are going by stats and what Nascar and Nascar fans consider to be the Greatest drivers in Nascar, Jr will be one of them guys. He is a great driver in not so great equipment. Lets take Casey Mears and Jamie McMuarry (sp), they were crap drivers before they got in elite rides and they are even crappier drivers while being in the rides. Kurt Busch, lucked into a championship, but by all means, he was the best driver in a broken system. He gets into the #2, yeah, he's doing real good isnt he folks.
If we want to go off of facts, Gordon is one of the best drivers and has cemented his name in the books, but dont count Jr out and dont take away from what he has acomplished in 8 years of cup racing, he still has alot of racing left in him.
Truth is I could go on and on, but at the end of the day, it takes a Gordon fan to ask a question like this, so maybe the threat is Jr to the Gordon fans and not Gordon to the Jr fans.
But hands down, Dale Sr was a far more better driver than Gordon will ever be, Gordon admits it, so now it's Gordon against Jr.

Quick fact for everyone, It's not only the Earnhardt fans that dislike Gordon, their are plenty of others that dislike him also. Kasey Kahne fans wear red, did y'all know that there was Toyota employees at Dega, they were all wearing red shirts. Maybe they were the ones pissed because the only Toyota that had a chance to win blew it's engine, maybe fans were pissed because the raced ended under yellow. It wasnt just Jeff car that was getting hit with beer cans, the entire field was. I dont like that fans done that, but it is what it is now. Time to move on from yesterdays news.

I hate to say it but gordon is probably the best driver in the cup. I love to see the under dog win now. Jr isnt even in the chase if they start today.

face it...jr hasn't had what it takes...even most of his fans are from his dad. And jr is not sr. kinda sad really. Wish somehow jr could get it together and win or at least be more competative. But alas...he isn't. So everybody move on...support him or not but stop the trash. All the stats stand on their own, jr has not cut it. No time for a pity party.

thats actually pretty funny most people adopted Jr as their racer when his Father "The Intimidator" dies they were fans of his and felt bad for Jr so they took him on as their driver me personally think that if you like the style that Sr. raced with you should watch Tony Stewart they are similar in many ways with the exception that Sr. had a better temper Stewart loses his a lot

That stink is you drafting too close to his bumper!

Have you ever considered that your guys are on larger racing teams, therefore they have a plethora of research and feedback that DEI doesn't have access to? It is true that Jr. can win races but a championship eludes him. He has quite of few years to get that. What about those great drivers like Mark Martin that never did receive a championship, but are great drivers? Do they not deserve respect?

I don't think he stinks. He's won 5 of the last 12 races at Talladega and had a top 10 under caution last week.

Besides, who cares, I'm a St Louis Blues hockey fan and they've NEVER won a Stanley cup and they've been around since like the 50's!

Some Earnhardt fans are loyal and don't root for their man just because of his stats. And not all are morons who throw crap at the track and talk trash about Gordon being "gay". True fans don't do that.
