Yes! So you must succumb to your guilt and fear, and convert today!

Unfortunately, that is how some of my Christian brothers and sisters interpret this story. Quite predictably, many reflect on this way of looking at the world/God, and choose to reject a life committed to the divine altogether.

The story points out to us that we are indeed lost, and that we need a connection to something larger than us to be found again. If not, we give in to our desires and fears and insecurities, and that can never lead to a good thing.

I am not saying that Christianity is the only way to solve this dilemma; it's the best for me. I only hope that people will not only listen to the simplistic and narrow-minded views of some when determining what direction to go in life.

peace

That's just a large-scale conspiracy to repress sex. They were naked and when they ate an apple they became aware of their nudity. And since everyone descended from them two, we're also aware of our nudity and that it is "wrong" to be nude, because it is a "sin", and we're supposed to wear clothes. Why did they have to "become aware" that they're naked? What's wrong with being naked? But the society doesn't want naked people walking down the street, so they tell you, it's wrong to be naked. Get it? I'm not sure I was able to explain it well enough.

God told them not to eat of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They willfully disobeyed God. And you don't know what kind of fruit it was. It could have been a pear for all you know!

I'm hungry too! I guess everyone's accountable for his/her own actions, not something based on our predecessors' failings. You'll be accountable for your own actions, Fatty! Don't get fried like bacon in hell!

No, no, no. This is a story to illustrate a point! It shows that we must not submit to our fears. We must face them and deny them power over us, but never lie or cheat or be ashamed of yourself.

Have a good day.

Ask God, he probably knows more about it than anybody else.

That is how the story goes. Then God has to torture his only son to be able to forgive us for stuff......
