They'll probably send you a check that's only for paying the taxes on the prize before they send you the prize money. Take the check to the bank and let them know it's prize money but you dont know if it's a scam or not. The bank will hold the check until they can verify that it's the real deal.

did you PLAY the european lottery? No? Then it isn't real. It is a scam. I bet they ask you to put up some "good faith" money or give them your bank account number so they can deposit millions of dollars in it.... DON'T DO IT. The only prize notification that is for real is Publisher's Clearing House and then you had better of filled out all the paperwork, ordered the d*&^ magazines, and kept up with your part of the deal.... and Ed had better show up to your door with a fat check... Honey. If it is too good to be true... it probably isn't. NOTHING (especially money) is for free.

You got it by e-mail? You needn't veryfy it, I'm 100% sure it is just spam. Or did you participate in that particular lottery? No? See!
If all notifications I've got from american, european or australian lotteries only since the beginning of this year were real, I had won nearly 10 times one Million $ and once half a Million $.

you be attentive to that's a scam in case you in no way even entered this drawing. you be attentive to that's a scam in case you're able to pay somebody you have in no way heard of in yet another u . s .. Did they handle you by call? If no longer, scam. if so, nonetheless fantastically suspect. once you're nonetheless not sure considering which you fairly should have self belief it fairly is genuine, Google the names of the human beings and agencies in contact (fairly those you're meant to pay) and see what you come across. in many circumstances, they have tried to tear-off different human beings, and those human beings will write approximately it on the internet.

and all you need to do is give them your bank info so they can transfer the money into your account . . . .right? And maybe send them the upfront money required to transfer the funds. If you need to ask if its legit, you already know the answer. How does one win a lottery they didn't enter?

First of all, did you enter it? If you are recieving a prize without having applied, I would say that it is a scam. Another thing is if there is any fee or forward cost, then its a phony.

Did you actually enter this sweepstakes?
If not, then its fake.
Do you have to buy something in order to collect your "winnings"?
If so, its fake.
Do you have to pay anything before you can get your "winnings"?
If so, its fake.
If you have to give something in order to collect, its fake and whoever is behind it is trying to get you to give up something (most likely money, your social security number, or credit card number) in order for you to collect your "winnings". Once you give up whatever it is they want, you'll never hear from them again, much less collect any lottery money.
If it is legit, you should get your winnings without having to give up anything.
