My mom had a hysterectomy & something bad must have happened. Now her red blood count keeps going down & down. Today she had a blood tranfusion, but during the process fluid kept forming around her lungs. They cant seem to make her better. I am really worried.

She is possibly bleeding inside.

I will say some prayers for her. Hopefully they will find out what is causing her to do this. I know that some people do have low blood counts after surgeries and that is normal. After receiving blood once or twice, they normally go back to normal. The fluid around her lungs is an additional problem. It sounds like her body is not responding well to the surgery. I will pray for your mother and I would push for the doctors to make sure they cauterized all the blood vessels when they did her surgery. I would make sure she sits upright so she doesn't "drown" in her own fluids. They should be giving her a diuretic to get the extra fluid off of her. Sometimes when they transfuse blood they put extra fluid on her and that is a cause of the fluid around the heart and lungs. They can do that too if they transfuse it too fast. I have worked in the medical field for over 17 years and have seen many things. Have them have a conference with you and your family to help figure out what is going on and to let you know more of what is going on and what they plan on doing. Hang in there and Hugs to you and my prayers are with you, your mother, and your family, and the medical staff caring for your mother.

See if her doctor will talk to you. Only he knows, hopefully, what is going on.
