I have 5 sons, and they have all gone through wanting their hair a way I didn't like, from shaving it all off, to growing it long. I never made them do anything, but I would say things like "I like your hair shorter/longer (whatever) it shows how handsome you are." Or..."Why not wear your hair this way, it looks so good on you." Eventually, they all grew out of the "new look" fad, and wore their hair in a "normal" fashion.

My boys have dressed like gangsters. for 3 yrs now, I hated buying the clothes but that is what everyone is wearing my little one I have to yell at him to pull his pants up because there at his knees. there 14n 16 now the older one has just started to dress alittle more normal. and I am glad. I would let it go and hopefully he will grow out of it. my kids have hardly no hair and they have designs in there hair from the clippers. we are from jersey. Hope this helps a little. good luck.

You're his Mom, but I don't think you should control him too much. (I have a 20 yr old son and daughters) I suggest you just talk to him, and have him talk to you. Grow a relationship where you're both comfortable with talking about 'most' anything. Then he may take your advice. And if not, there's really no harm done with him expressing himself.

you can try and explain to him that if he trims it, it will look healthier and girls love that. personally, i like longer hair on guys.some of the younger boys are adorable with it. other than a trim, i'd let it go. my son is 18. he looks great with his hair a little longer. even a short style would be nice but, he insists on shaving it. that drives me crazy. it looks stupid but it's his thing.

Let him have it his way - he'll only resent your insisting he cut it. When you let him have his way on little things, you get your way on big things. (And believe me - when he sees the pictures of himself in 10 years with that hair, you will get your revenge)

Let him keep his hair. I know he is your son but the way I see it, it's his hair. Pick your battles.
