I will be travelling 15 hours by plane with my 17 month old who unfortunately suffers from severe food allergies to milk, eggs and peanuts. Due to this we have to bring our own food for him. What meals do you suggest to bring that is safe not to be refrigerated? Thanks.

I thought you could get special meals for allergic people too! I'm sure if you enquire they would be able to help...also depending on where you are going they may not allow you to take some food on planes either, so I would definately ring and ask the airline directly.

I have heard also about someone with a child allergic to peanuts asking the airline not to give out nuts in the immediate vicinity but didn't, so I would also make yourself known when getting on the plane too, to avoid any issues (although most arilines I have been on don't give nuts out anymore but other variations of snacks.)

Yeah. I travel my 18 hour flights on Emirates. They have perfect food for any age. If your not flying EK [ Emirates] then take : Soy Milk, some baby food, and possibly ask the addenant to refrigerate theses things because they can.

You should call the airline and ask them if they can refrigerate some small items for you. You may also be able to request special diet items. If not bring dried foods. You can get soft dried fruits and other snacks at Whole Foods or another health food store.

Veggies, dried fruit, chips -- some of the things the child normally consumes. A small insulated cooler for the things that need to be kept chilled as long as possible (eat that first).

Bananas, Rice Cereal or Cheerios are good.

Bring whatever he can eat that doesn't have to be chilled. Obviously, you know what your child can/cannot eat.....just pack accordingly.

Good luck!
