Mah, mah! Why would you be afraid of telling your parents that you've started mensing? If you don't have a good enough relationship with your mother to ask for help, you can deal with it yourself. It's not a big deal. Buy some pads at the store. Put on a clean one in the morning after your shower and a clean one in the evening before going to bed. Depending on how heavy your flow is, you may need to change again during the day.
Be courteous about how you wrap them up and throw them away when they are soiled. Shower daily and clean yourself with soap and water.
If you have cramps, Tylenol, Motrin, Femicin, or Pamprin can help. Ask the pharmacist for advice. They help, too.
If you are afraid, then see the school nurse for help.

That's normal, and understandable. I was nervous too! But, unfortunately there's really no way around it. All I can say is bite the bullet and just get it over with. Your mom can tell you what you need to know and what to do and I promise it's not a big deal, she's been going through it for a long time!! Good luck.

Don't be scared every female has , is and will go through at some point in her life at a certain age. You need to let your mom know so you can get the necessary items to take care of yourself. Believe me having an "accident" in front of any one can be really embarrassing. Your mom will understand and she will be so nice to you that week. Trust me you get spoiled while you are cramping and stuff.

In some families, getting your period is a reason to celebrate -- today you are a woman. Your mom's going to know anyway, especially if she does the laundry. Tell here so you can get supplies.

You shouldn't be scared, it's a part of nature.. it's natural. Jus tell your parents & if you don't feel comforable tellin your father jus tell your mother. When I 1st started I didnt tell my father I told my mom.. but jus tell em cause its nothn 2 be scared about cause it a natural cycle of your body.. plus your mother can get you the things you need & explain everything to you that you need to know about it

I was scared to tell my mom too. I don't know why, but I was. But I did tell here and she was there to help me, and you need to do the same. Your mom has gone through it and she understands.
