I asked a guy about a photo he had of himself holding a monkey. He said the monkey was an orangutan. I replied that I thought those were the orange monkies. (this was brown and looked like a baby chimp).
His reply was 那你是色忙?是棕色的!
It's reading to me like, Then you are the color busy? Is the brown one!
Anyone? Don't translate with Babelfish either, it's gonna say what I'm reading it as.

The key here is that the 5th character was incorrect in the sentence.
忙 = busy, forget
It should have been
盲 = blind
The two sounds very close to each other.
那你是色盲?
Then you are color blind ?
是棕色的!
It is brown !
Not a very polite response. I would have told him that " Well, at least I know how to write properly "

I'm not Chinese but I am studying it and it doesn't make sense. The first bit says 'that (thing) you are colour busy? (this must depend on what was said before) the next bit says '(yes) it's a brown one'. Hope that helps a bit

I think he probably meant this: "Then are you colorblind? Those are the ones with neutral/medium colors." Brown is called neutral/medium colors sometimes depending on how you translate it.

it's probably more like, what are you, the color expert? it's brown. perhaps baby orangutangs are brown--do you know?

it means, "what are you? colorblind? these monkies are brown."
