I find it funny when people say oh they do that in other countries when it comes to immigration and public polices. If you haven't noticed the reason we have surpassed the other countries is because we do not do what they do we march to our own beat. Why drag us down to their level.

I see by the response of most they do not understand the question. If you read the article you would pretty easily understand what My stance is on immigration. It seems people want to change the laws regarding legal immigration yet forget to address illegals. One poster mentioned how strict they are with illegals in Europe that is all well and good but people want to lower the amount of immigrant visas and add guest worker programs as if this is somehow going to solve the illegal immigration program. And loretta you were the dope that doesn't understand how a green card works so I suggest you get out of my country for not knowing what the hell you are talking about.

We have problems here with immigration people coming in from Nigeria etc. We even had referendum to change the laws so that anyone born here doesn't have the right to an Irish passport. So we been deporting loads out of here by the plane loads.

All due respect, you don't know what you are talking about.
Back when I was working for the government, it was necessary for me to live as an illegal alien in several Eurpean countries and I can tell you for a fact that I was always looking over my shoulder.
In Europe they have a lot of people watching for illegals. If the postman delivers mail to an address and the name on that mail is not what the official name should be, he will report it to the authorities and you will get a visit from a couple of guys in treanch coats who have no sense of humor....
You are guaranteed a visit to the Palace of Justice or the Local Magistrate or whatever and you have to not only prove WHO you are but WHY you are living in THEIR country without any authorization.
There are other eyes watching for illegals... bank tellers and even pub managers.
America is much more open and permissive and you really don't know what you are talking about in your posting... I have lived there and lived through being an Illegal Alien in Europe and I know for a fact that America is much easier on Illegals.

It's a fair article, but it missed a major point on why Indians prefer America. There already a large Indian population in the US. People gravitate to the familiar. If they added more green cards in Canada or England and there are better job opportunity, more Indians would flock their too. AS too why we should care what otehr countries do, we should watch their mistakes and not repeat it. Russia's mistake was too listen to Bush Sr. He said to throw away communism and suddenly put up a capitalist government. If Russia looked at what was going on in the rest of the world, they would have know it was stupid. They would of seen a booming Chinese economy and a failling Eastern European economy. They would of realize the proper path was to follow China and ease into a capitalist economy. If Mexico, watched what the US did to Russia, they would of realized, that US do not advise foreign country in what is best for them but for what is best for the U.S., and realize NAFTA was stupid.
