I was having a lot of trouble doing this one assignment and the due date for it was the next day so i panicked and plagiarized it. Anyway I got busted. My teacher is letting me redo the assignment but I still don’t have any idea if she is going to tell my parents. I’m terrified because my parents are total hard-asses and I know they’ll hate me. Has anyone else gone through this and could possibly offer a little support. If you’re just going to yell at me never mind I already feel bad enough. Come on I panicked!

Believe it or not, your not the only person who has ever plagiarized. Its no biggie, sometimes its okay to use other peoples words to say what you mean. I would still use some of the old paper, just pull quotes and remember to cite them. Also you more than likely got caught because you cut and pasted from a highly regarded source. This in itself is a dumb move. If I were you I would bust my ***, turn in a new paper and apologize like crazy to the teacher, stressing how you paniced. About your folks, I dont think the teacher will hate if she gave you an extension. I used to teach for a while, and as long as the kid is not an ***; I would usually cut them a break. By the way, before you start on this new paper, make sure you have a detailed outline so you are constantly having something to write about. Good Luck, and dont stress.

I almost did not pass senior English because of it. Long story short I let someone else use my paper, but all he did was photocopy it and he forgot to take my name off of the top of the second page. i got in trouble ended up with a Dvand he got to retake the class. Why don't you write a paper on how teens sometimes make bad decisions based on peer pressure, parental judgment and fear of failing. when you are done ask you mom or dad to proof read it. After they are done explain the situation to them and stress that you know you made bad decisions and you could have avoided all of this if you would have just not procrastinated in the first place. They may be upset at you but they will get over it, then let them know that having them be disappointed in you is a consequence of your actions and you realize it. Letting them know and handling it like an adult will show them that you have grown from the experience and that you are becoming a mature young adult. This approach as painful as it maybe is probably your best option. It will be like taking off a band aid.

I don't want to lecture you (Sorry, I probably am!), but how come you didn't speak to the teacher about it and/or ask for an extension?

All I can say is glad you realised you did it and be grateful you're being allowed to redo it.

Also, I might be wrong, but, I assume your parents would still love you even if you did plaigarise your assignment. Love the sinner, hate the sin and all that...

Anyway, best of luck with it! And remember to cite any quotations/sentences you DO use!

good day Silver i do not imagine every person would pick to reproduction my solutions reason i'm distinctly certain I sound like a 5 3 hundred and sixty 5 days old that purely occurs to understand something about song in my solutions and questions =P yet heavily it really is really dumb. I advise every person who would purely plagiarize on Y!A is distinctly dumb contained in the first position even though it feels like they did not even attempt to cover it up or were too lazy to a minimum of. even although that is extraordinary shes too lazy too conceal up the blatant yet no longer too lazy too seem for an old question to reproduction from haha BQ: Nah, i like countless the bands on that record and that i have reported them earlier like the Birthday massacre and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs yet i did not answer that question and each and every thing so i do not imagine it really is copied from me. BQ2: i am going to bypass with the truly obvious one and say "less than pressure".

You might as well have saved yourself the 5 points for asking the question because most likely you WILL get yelled at. :-)

It's the teacher's decision about whether to inform your parents and I wouldn't be surprised if she does. About all you can do at this point is face the music and take whatever medicine comes your way, sorry.

The good news is that at least you've learned your lesson, right? Better to learn it now, in high school (you are, correct?) than in college where one of the consequences could be losing scholarships you already have and/or the opportunity to apply for scholarships in the future.

To be honest, I have a hard time being sympathetic because I have friends and relatives who are teachers and professional writers, and for them plagiarism is a whole **string** of four-letter words.

All the same, best of luck dealing with your situation and I hope things get better for you soon. Hang in there!

look there is nothing wrong with doing some research on the internet but you cannot copy it word for word or you will get in trouble so get some ideas about what you are writting about from the internet and use your own thoughts to make the paper your own
