I'm agnostic, and it is so annoying. You'll be like debating with someone and they will just be like , " Oh are you an atheist or something." I'll just be like no I'm agnostic. I just hate that. If some one has something to say or is trying to prove something, they should make sure they have the facts before they start making accusations. =(

I have noticed that, too. Also, if you question anything that is in fundamentalist Christian theology, they assume you are an atheist, or, even worse, a Satanist.

It's just people being narrow-minded and ignorant. After all, according to some people, there are only two types of people in the world: Christians and non-Christians.

If you don't believe in a god or gods then you actually are an atheist. Belief is a binary state - you either do or you don't, with belief being the 'positive' state in the sense that it's the assertion being made (i.e. there is a God).

When considering belief there is no room for doubt: if you don't know then you don't believe.

Now, when it comes to knowledge we are all agnostic because none of us know for sure that there is a God or gods. We may be 99.99999...% sure but we can't absolutely prove it.

So there you have it: We're all agnostic, some of us are theists and the rest are atheists.

What's the difference? Eternity is just as long for an atheist as it is for an agnostic.

I don't know why some Christians believe non believers are atheists...but they do. I usually don't associate with them....but I can tell you they believe anyone who hasn't accepted Jesus into their lives will be cast into eternal damnation...and they don't want to be associated with atheists (for fear of being brought down to hell with them).

(as a Christian, who, as you already know..LOVES MUSIC...I don't treat non believers like outcasts..instead, I talk to them about Jesus...but ONLY if they are interested in talking about the subject, I don't push the issue with them...I never push the issue with them....)

Sometimes I think Christians only recognize themselves and their sister religions (Judaism and Islam) Everyone else is an Atheist.

Agnostic is close enough to atheist in my opinion, but i actually have more respect for atheist, they can take a side, agnostics get nothing accomplished by sitting on the fence, please move to one side.

tell them you are a satanist and let them think they got you all the way out of that to atheism. they'll consider that a victory.

Any "automatic thinking" is not to be trusted. For example, some people automatically think that "your" is the same as "you're."
