The hard thing to do is look at who was fighting during that time. Tyson dominated, but the weight class was a joke in the 80's. Ali fought the stiffest competition throughout his career. Then Joe Louis dominated his era for over 11 years when fights went 18-20 rounds. I would love to see these three fighters go at it, during their prime.

Pound-for-pound? Probably Sugar Ray Robinson, although I think that Harry Greb could have beaten anyone who ever lived. He was GREAT!! Look him up.

Edited for asshole comments. I just knew he was undefeated so I went to about and copied his record. It took fifteen seconds. Ali said in his later years he never saw a fighter like Rocky. Ill assume he meant himself. Ali certainly is the most beloved fighter of all time but not as much for his amazing fighting style as his out of the ring battles. Thanks for attacking my answer. It apears you have to much time on your hands.
