somebody (i won't mention names) sent me this email:

Message: HELLO, i am sorry that you think i hate muslims, i dont hate them or anyone. what i hate is the awful crimes against humankind lately. I believe many are kind hearted, and good, and yet i have been told that the koran tells muslims to murder non believers of islam. why is that? i would like to understand. honestly, but i feel islam will take over the u.s. and murder all who are not believers.
why cant you become a christian. it is so much easier. you are assured heaven by belief in Jesus as your saviour and then there is not so much work and praying and fasting out of religious rules. then you can pray and fast when and if you want to. Jesus died on the cross for us all. muslims believe the angels took him to heaven before death. that is not true. He is the Son of the Most High God. believe in him and you WILL be in heaven one day. and you people have to stop blowing yourselves up. that is suicide which God hates.

Don’t you think that’s SO rude? She obviously doesn’t know much about the quran, because it does not tell us to kill ourselves or anyone else. and telling me to become a christian...?

well, no, i won't tell her to become a muslim because that would make me a hypocrite and besides, it's rude. i can introduce it to people but i can't force them. that's what it says in the quran.

This message is not intentionally rude but it is dangerously ignorant, bigoted and very offensive. The difference is the awareness of the author. The author doesn't have the ability to understand anything except the pre-digested thought of his or her community leaders. The reason why "it's so much easier " if you become a Christian is because then the author never needs to question anything that they were told. The fact that you are Muslim must make this person doubt the 'party line'.

They are also very threatened by anyone who is different. They start out asking to understand, but your very existence is so contrary to their social programming that they can't prevent themselves from saying derogatory and threatening things. They even say Its all about 'what they have been told.

All in all, there is little difference between them and someone who would blow themselves up just to rid the world of the impiety of a foreign culture.

maybe not so rude as closed-minded and ignorant about islamic teachings. He/she did not mean to be rude I think but that arrogance annoys me so much. "why cant you become a christian?" well why cant he become a muslim ? If I tell him its the truth, he'll laugh but for some reason its perfectly reasonable for him to say that his religion is the truth. All those christians saying that his attentions were pure, well maybe they were but if I went around doing the same, all of you wouldn't be feeling so nice anymore . Its not the fact that he was preaching or whatever but the arrogance is what is the most annoying and the inablility to consider the views of others.

Mike Hunt. I used to paintings for an organization the position between the sales reps were given right here in really a lot wetting himself with laughter. He were to substantiate a shopper, a Mr M Hunt yet he did now no longer understand what his first call grew to develop into. The receptionist on the place of work greeted our rep and then began to target to hint down Mr Hunt. It grew to develop into really at the same time as she called to a colleague "has honestly everyone seen Mike Hunt?" that our rep lost it thoroughly!

I understand why you feel it was rude, I really do. I don't think however that was the way it was really meant.

That Christian, believes that by telling you what she/he believes she/he is being helpful to you. It's how they are taught, or so I've been told. I do think the comments are not necessary because it seems like preaching to me.

As to the quran's teachings... I have heard from others that it teaches what she/he said. So it's misinformation maybe that we are being taught. I'm sorry you were so hurt by this.

Tell HER to become Muslim.. Christian are so devoted and dedicated to trying to persuade and convert people all the time it's disgusting... if Christianity was the true religion wouldn't you think we'd feel it in our hearts to convert on our own decisions? Shouldn't Jesus be able to convince us?

They are led astray and away from Allah and they want to take you with them.

Once you ask her to convert she'd know what it feels like to be asked continuously to convert.

it's kind of strange for someone to state that Islam will take over the USA and murder all who are non believers.... they are a little late the Christians did that a couple of centuries ago.... Why do they all of a sudden feel frightened when someone does onto them what they have always done onto others....

I think it got rude right after she asked why you couldn't because a christian. Up until that point it seemed like she was trying to understand her misconceptions of your faith. Once she got onto the whole trying to convert you kick though it became rude because then it shows she's not willing to listen to you or understand your faith and she's pretty much saying that she's right and you're wrong.

I don't think it is rude. This individual stated things from their perspective which may help you to understand what some people think of your beliefs. If you are threatened by it or feel the need to post it for all of us to see then you should probably not converse by way of email anymore...This is a very nice email when compared to some I've received in the past.
