Assumption that you want 1" of material over that 12,500 sq ft.

1" = 0.0833 ft
12,500 sq ft x .0833 ft = 1,041.667 cu ft = 38.58 cu yards
38.58 / 1.09 = 35.39 tons

I assume that you meant to say that a ton of material is 1.09 cubic yards, and that you want to spread it over the field at 1" thick. If this is right, MikeJ gave you the right answer.

There is no answer to this unless you specify how deep you want to cover it. the statement about 1.09 cubic yards at 1 inch depth makes no sense at all.

Sorry ... your question makes absolutely no sense. A cubic yard is a measure of volume. You can't say something will cover a cubic yard at one inch of depth. That puts you into 4 spatial dimensions.

12500/ 9 = 1389 sq yds

So you will need about 1389 tons to cover to a 1" depth.
