That among most psychologists is another "chicken or the egg" question. It mostly depends on the individual who suffers from both of these conditions. There is a genetic link between the two but nothing has been confirmed really. =)

Anxiety leads to depression. Actually it can go either way at different times.

It depends on the person and what is going on that lead the individual to feel these things. Mine started out as depression, first though. Then it got just too overwhelming and stressful to even go outside.

I think it could be either way from the beginning, but through my point of view, I've had anxiety first then developed depression as a "sercurity blanket" to make me feel numb or something from all the agony & pain from panic attacks.
