I recommend for a 12 year old not really a diet, but to learn better eating habitats. For instances portion control choosing vegetables over starchy items. Cut out soda, or switch to diet sodas. Make sure she gets her daily water supply 6-8 glasses per day. Have her to eat 3 regular meals and 2 snacks per day. Her mom or family member should help her with a meal plan. For instances wheat toat, fruit for breakfast, cereal, For a light snack a yogurt. chicken for lunch, corn, have celeray and peanut butter for afterschool snack. then a balance dinner. before bed popcorn and no eating after 7 pm in the eves

There are some pretty good websites for info i really like weight watchers. And i believe they have pre-teen sites on there website. Exercise can be anything that makes the heart pump. Walking, riding her bike, dancing, skiprope. then slowly following these ideas she should be able to shed that extra weight

goodluck!!!

For a 12 year old you probably have to try eating healthier. Don't over eat, limit the amount of intake. Try not to snack on fatty foods much and trying exercising. Join a sport, go out walking.

Most doctors don't recommend that children use any sort of diet pill either. That is why most bottles say that they are for adults. If you do plan on using the nutrisystem make sure and let them know that it is for a 12 year old. The amount of food intake may be different.

Try getting a work out done as a family, even if it's just going for a jog or walk. The more involved and the more encouragement they get from family the easier it is.

If the child is taking in more than 5,000 calories a day, then that is alot. Remember that a calorie is what gives a person energy. and if they are doing less movement/ exercising that the calories they are taking in, it is just helping them to store all that fat in their body.

When I was young-er, I gained a lot of weight from the age of 10 to the age of 16. I started to loose weight (4 lbs a week ) by cutting out bread. I did this for two months and dropped 32 lbs. Though many may say that this is not healthy. I would suggest consulting a doctor before going on any diet regimen.

A few years ago i gained about 80lbs. I have to say it was from just being lazy. I was not working out and not eating healthy at all. I found Dance Dance Revolution and started pairing that with cutting out bread and eating a lot of meats with veggies and salads. Each time drinking loads of water.. About 16 ounces at each meal. In 3 months I dropped 72 pounds.

I gain weight in the winter due to lack of motivation. So when I see spring coming around I pull out the DDR and get back on my plan.. The weight just comes right off..

Drink lots of water.
Please don't do anything drastic.
The weight will come off if you make calm, well thought out decisions..

Some girls put on weight just before their puberty growth spurt. Do not do special weight loss systems.
Instead, give up TV and sitting around. Ride your bike, swim, walk, jog, dance (DDR?)
Also, give up on desserts. They are useless and add to the weight. Eat healthy foods. Do not use fads like all grapefruit or all cabbage diets.
Soon you will grow taller and that will lose a lot of the extra weight, if any, that you have now.

Hi... Nutrisystem does have a program for kids that you should definitely look at. A good, fun, and natural way that she can lose weight is to go to the park and play a sport... make things fun by putting her on a team where she can play and interact with others. Chances are she will like it and want to keep going. It will also boost her energy which will make her want to get up and start doing things on her own.

Your 12! Unless you are 50 pounds or more overweight; don't worry about what you weigh. Enjoy life. You will continue to gain weight and get taller. You are in puberty. Diets at that age can stunt your growth, just in case you didn't know.

First of all if your overweight then eat right, limit sweets, candy, soda, chips, etc..bad for you. Excercise at least 30 minutes a day, it's interesting because at 12 you should be really physically active. Eat lots of veggies and fruits. Drink plently of water, and juice remember limit soda.

2nd of all if you are not overweight, do NOT go on a diet because you are still growing, that is not healthy! Wait until your a least 17 or 18 to be thinking of that! Just excercise and eat right, k!

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!

Get started today!
