Forgot to mention she's not spayed. And she did just finish going through her heat cycle.

Yes, do take her to a vet asap.

I didn't have to ask if your dog was spayed or not - I knew she wouldn't be. Pyometra is very common in older unspayed dogs and your dog is showing the signs. This is one of the number one reasons to spay.

Pyometra can easily be deadly, and is characterized by foul smelling or rotten-looking discharge from the vulva - this is the infection in the uterus leaking out. Soon your dog may start to drink a lot, and then seem generally lethargic and unwell or even start vomiting. Please take her to a vet asap before she gets to this stage, you can't afford to wait where pyometra is concerned.

It's probably nothing. If she is fixed i would call the Vet Immediately. If shes not spayed she is probably in heat. If she seems to be in pain or lazzy take her in ASAP. She may have an infection in her uterus that can be life threatening. Edit: If she just finished going through her heat cycle then you need to be alarmed. Take her in ASAP. That infection could kill her!!!!

Well, the easiest thing is to phone your vet and ask the assistant on the phone what they recommend. That might save you the cost of a visit, and if they want to see the dog, then you take the dog in.

Is she spayed? If not, have her seen right away, she may be showing early signs of pyometra. If she is spayed, have her seen right away anyway, because what you are seeing may be blood in the urine, caused by a kidney disorder, bladder infection, or even a cancer.
