What do wisdom teeth prove?

They prove nothing, my dentist told me when I asked him where mine were, he said that around 3% of people will never get wisdom teeth and that the number was increasing every decade.
He said that humans had evolved due to the recent improvements in diet and wisdom teeth are really no longer required in this day and age.
Apparently there only purpose was to extend your life by allowing you to still chew tough, course food when your other teeth had worn out or rotted away in your twenties

I'm still wondering why they are called wisdom teeth, and why, if they are wisdom, are they usually pulled while you are still in high school. (or shortly thereafter as mine were)

my grandparents once told me that people with a lot of teeth are smart and bound to be someone great like a president or rocket scientist or someone cool.most of the people that i know have had theirs removed.i still have my wisdom teeth.i must be destined to be someone great, someday or something lol:)

When our distant ancestors had larger jaws they needed those extra teeth to fill the jaw and to be more effective in eating the unprocessed foods. We don't need them in modern man.
