You can download a free Excel viewer from Microsoft to view the file. You can't edit it though.

It's a bit over the top to download and install a whole new office suite just to view a single Excel file.
The good person who suggested going to the MS website and downloading the Excel viewer probably has the best idea.

Your saying that you dont have excel and the spreadsheet is a excel document? If thats the case, is there no way you can convert the file at all so that you can view it.
I think you have an option where you can open the file using a variety of programs such as word, adobe acrobat, etc.
I think your best bet is to go to the library and access it there or you will have to tell the sender of the file to change the format of the file.

My advice is either, get excel or open it from another computer like the librarys or something. Or you can always borrow one of your friends disk for excel or do it at a friends house. Good Luck. Theres no way getting around opening it without installing excel.

Can you view it if you click Preview? Otherwise, ask the person that sent it to copy the Excel text into a Word document and send that to you. Or, you could go to a computer that has Excel on it, maybe a friend has it or you could rent time on computer at Kinko's.

Consider using OpenOffice.org, a free office suite, from www.openoffice.org
You may need the helps of the GetRight , the download manager, from www.getright.com to resume and accelerate your download of OpenOffice.org because its installation file size is large.
