I have had a problem with fainting in the past and have been diagnosed with low blood sugar, but that is not the case now. I eat and make sure that I am testing my blood sugar daily and I am fainting sometimes 3 times a day. The first time it happened I tested my blood sugar and then ate. After that I was cautious with standing up thinking it may be blood pressure. Close to the evening around the time I went to bed, I passed out 2 more times back to back. I have even gone to taking iron vitamins thinking that I may be anemic because of my heavy flow during the month.
I live alone and have no relatives in the immediate area that can come check up on me. I have no insurance and really don't want to pay for a doctors visit let alone an ambulance bill.
I just need to know what could be the cause.

It happens only during the week of my period and then I am clear for the next 3 weeks. Forgot to mention that earlier

If you're fainting multiple times a day, I think this warrants a visit to the doctor.... Come on now... You're only guessing at your problem and so would anyone answering your question.

You can pay a little now to find out what the problem is or pay a lot if you end up staying in the hospital for letting it got too long.

Do you have heart problems or blood pressure problems (arrythmias or hypotension)? It's not normal that you're fainting that often. You should go see your doctor. Have you been checked for anemia? How anemic are you? Lack of money shouldn't really prevent you from getting medical care. Without more information, I couldn't even begin determining the cause.

Off the top of my head, there could be 20 different causes: autonomic dysfunction, adrenal suppression, insulinoma, empty sella syndrome, brain tumor, vasovagal reaction, atrial fibrillation, diabetes insipidus causing severe dehydration, etc. The anemia would have to be pretty severe to cause this. You need to be diagnosed.

If it only happens the week of your menses, it may be anemia, dehydration, vaso-vagal (do you faint at the sight of blood?).
