I can only get the 2 main speakers to work. Can you advise how to get the 'surround' speakers working plz?

Sorry guys I should have been more clear. Its a dvd player with the 6 speaker outlets. An all-in-one, I guess. You hook the spk wires directly into the back of dvd player. On the dvd display the 2 that work are dimly lit whereas the 4 that dont are bright (in case that means anything to you).
Btw its an AMW P8A5, using a universal remote as it didnt come with its own (second-hand).

Take the digital audio output from the DVD player and hook it up to the digital audio input of your surround sound receiver. Make sure the surround sound receiver is set for digital audio input.
Put a dvd into the dvd player and go to the setup menu. Select 5.1 surround sound. When you play your movie you should now be enjoing your movie in surround sound.

You need to have a suuround sound amp to power them. If you're running it off a regular amp chances are there are only a couple of outputs.

u buy a amplifier plate from the market and assemble with the supply from its u'll get the stereo effect of the music system.
