My mother in laws cat just had two gorgeous baby kittens. One of the kittens has a huge sac that we think may be water or a liquid inside of it...it hangs at the lower area of her stomach. almost right in between her legs. I suspect that maybe her bladder isnt working like it is supposed to...does anyone have any info on this?

No info, but it sounds like a problem that needs to be seen by a vet immediately.

I have had many cats that have had kittens. It freaked me out but after the mother cat popped out one kitten there was several things it actually ate. I am assuming it was the after birth. So I'm gonna take a stab at your question there is probably something wrong with the kitten or else the mother cat would have ate whatever is hanging off the kitten. Is the sac clear or red or what color? Sorry I couldn't help!! Good Luck!

I would advise taking the kitten to the vets.

Bladders are completely internal, they do not hang down even when they are very full. If this sac feels liquidy, it may well be - cats can get fluid in their abdomen, and when they do it is bad, it indicates the presence of a serious virus.

Even if the kitten is newborn, it's never too early to go to the vets, you can take the whole cat family!

Take your cat to the vet ASAP. This can be a deformity but like you said, might have to do with the bladder.

Hope this helps,

Sunshine G.

P.S. I don't know what to say. I have never seen this before in a cat.

It's an abdominal hernia, and she needs to be checked by the vet. Don't let her get too playful or jump around, if she ruptures it, it could kill her. It can be fixed with surgery, but not until she's old enough for anesthesia.
