Do you thinks Christians should engage in serious dialogue with each other? Do you think that Christians should emphasize what they have in common (like the Creed and New Testament) and respectfully discuss disagreements? Should Christians try to understand what other groups and religions actually teach? What about the same for non Christian religions and philosophies? Can people who disagree work together for things they think are worthwhile?

I love being an ecumenical Christian. I love reaching out to other denominations. Learning what makes us similar. Learning what makes us different.

It's wonderful!

I find it's breaking down walls.

I believe people who disagree can work together. I've seen it in the pro-life movement. Catholics and Protestants working together. In working together we find we're not so different. In working together a lot of the misconceptions about one another are revealed and cast aside.

It's great!

Dialogue is always good. The Pope even tried to open a dialogue with the Muslims (the gaffe) and has open and friendly relations with the Jews. Why Denominational Christians cannot or would not, is absurd. This is long overdue. Bigotry must end in unity and peace. Especially those that really follow the Lord.

When you talk about religion, you open up the possibility that you might actually SEE the inconsistencies within it.
That is why you have faith. So you don't have to worry about silly things like contradictions and logical fallacies and scientific inconsistencies.
