because death is final and no one knows for sure whats on the other side besides it also means leaving the ones you love. I don't fear death but I do fear loosing the ability to be near my loved ones

I'm scared of life. The prospects for the future scare me more than death does.

Because we don't want to end life, which has everything in it- a family, friends, raising a family, ect. We want to experience the things that we want to see and be part of, and death is the thing that ends it all.

people are afraid of the unknown of what they can't see plus they may not want to suffer a horrible death I think we'd all like to go in our sleep. Jesus knew we would be afraid that's why he said do not be afraid plus like in my case I'm scared about an auto accident and my children not knowing what to do or something like that I would hate for them to be tramatized by something like that.

Well... maybe people think death is painful as they've never experienced it before, e.g a heart attack is probably more painful than dying in your sleep.
