I've been informed by the British America Tobacco lottery committee that I've been selected as a winner in the lucky dip conduted among thousands of mail id holders, for which I have not volunteered. Now they claim 850 US dollars from me towards the courier charges, insurance and VAT to receive my prize amount of 1,25,000 US dollars. Is this a genuine case?

I think you already know the answer to your question - it's a scam, you didn't win anything. I hope you haven't sent them any money.

Lady, if you fall for that... you sure do have a problem.

Why don't you just call BAT directly and ask if they have, or had a lottery? It would be so easy to find out for sure, you just gotta make the effort.

Also, google for "BAT Lottery" and see how many others have been taken before you.

I get dozens of these lotteries in my email telling me I've won millions, all the time.

You'd think people would know by now, they are so common everywhere....
