What is your definition of a "Sunday morning Christian"?

I suggest a paper on how Christians exterminated native Americans while settle the Americas. Or how about when the executed Jews during the black death while claiming that God was punishing them for tolerance of Jews. Sounds familiar doesn't it? Kind of like they claim about HIV and tolerance of gays now. You could right about how Christians tend to blame minorities and tolerance when times are bad.

A sunday morning Christian goes to church once a week and puts on his sunday best- puts on a facade of having it all together, may even lift their hands in worship maybe even teaches a sunday school class, then on monday returns to "regular living" and no one would know they are a Christian. That is a "religious Christian" not a true born again believer who lives their whole life for Jesus.

From what I have seen the "Sunday morning Christian" is one who attends church once a week out of a sense of guilt or even sometimes obedience. Obedience is good, however I believe that some will go because they've been led to believe they should,without knowing WHY So then what are they doing the other 167 hrs. of the week?. If obedience is good then read the rest of the book & find out what else is expected..
The Church I grew up in teaches that it is a sin to not attend church if you are able to be there. I have learned that there is a lot more that they teach, but being pulled outta bed by your hair on Sunday morn. cuz you overslept has a definite impact on that one rule.
After years of studying the Bible myself I am now excited to Get to go to church (not the same one) and I get to offer up praise & Worship to the Lord of my Life without whom I feel I would certainly be miserable and wasted.
GOD is a part of everyday of my life & I like it that way !

Only acts like a Christian on Sunday morning whey they go to church. The person that only goes to church Sunday morning so they can be seen in a good light in the community.

A Sunday morning Christian is a person that attends church on Sunday mornings only even if the church has multiple services during the week.

This person may or may not give Christ much thought during the time they are not in church. It really depends on the spiritual relationship.

A "Sunday morning Christian" is a person who is most likely is "lost" but just so happens to go to church on Sunday. However, you can be saved and be a "backslider".

Such a person is only concerned with what God got has plan for his/her life only if they don't "feel" inconvenience. Always settling for "good enough" vs. God's best.

My definition is that one of someone who is Christ-like but only on Sunday mornings. They know they are on their way to church and so for this brief time, they will do all they can to be what God says we should be and do in His Word but only for today. Now Monday and the rest of the week, God will take a backseat. But today is "God's day". May God Bless U.

To me a Sunday morning christian is someone who goes to church on Sunday and worships and praises and when they get home it is back to the same old ways of cussing,lying or what ever they do that displeases GOD.

My thought is that it is a person who shows up to church on Sunday w/ the "Christian face" and when they walk out the door they don't lead the life of a Christian. One who talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk.
