Dissect it! I don't think it is legal without a license but you aren't hurting anyone. Just be careful and wash your hands afterwards. It could be carrying diseases. PS: birds are kind of hard to dissect because of the feathers. Check out this site: http://www.ups.edu/x6262.xml

You should dissect it because you want to be a vet, a person take care of animal. How you can throw it away?

I'm sure your veterinary training (when you get it) will have a few bird specimens for you to dissect. I suggest you discard the carcus of the bird. because it could have fleas or ticks on it, and the plague is a possibility again nowadays believe it or not, so for your own safety throw it out, but if your insistent go ahead and dissect it.

Its illegal to possess birds, even if they are dead. If you want to be a vet then go volunteer at a wildlife rehab. You'll get to learn how to keep birds alive instead. Your can open the bird up but your not going to have a clue what your looking at.

Dissect it then fry it and eat it like chicken. The bird flu is only a myth.

If you want to be a vet... then do a necropsy on the bird... its the best way to learn!
Ive never done one on a bird.. but a squirrel and a possum
the squirrel died of heart failure.. ( blood was surounding all cavities)
the possum was hit by a car.. I just wanted to see if I could find anything else wrong... his internal organs were good..
his head was smashed.

The nice thing to do would be to bury it,without dissecting it.Don't forget to wash you hands thoroughly after handling!!!!
