Out of every religious post here on answers not one atheists talked about their ethical philosophy, principles of atheism, or anything relevant to atheism except for one thing.

Denial of Christianity. Every topic either slanders the church, spreads hatred towards religion, is condescending or otherwise down right mean towards Christians

But let me ask you. What would you talk about if their really was no God? if every single person on earth held your point of view, and I mean everyone, and there was absolutely no religion or any spiritual beliefs held by anyone at any time, and there was not even a word for such things. What would you now have to say?

I still have not received a real answer. I asked what you would talk about not how right or wrong you are.

Nothing.

Atheism isn't a belief system, it's a lack of a specific belief.

Atheism doesn't have any unifying ethical belief, because atheism is defined by a lack of a certain belief. If you want to discuss the specific philosophical and ethical beliefs of individual atheists that's a different topic entirely.

You ask what would I do if there "really was no God?" Well, given that, as an atheist, I do not believe there are any gods, one must logically assume that I would do nothing different overall.

Atheism is defined as a lack of belief in any deities. It is not a 'ruleset' the way Christianity (for example) might be described.

Atheists have no holy book, no doctrine, no rituals to 'tie' us together. We are diverse--we just all have in common that we don't 'buy' these myths and accept them as truth by virtue of the fact that there is no evidence for them. A few other things that atheists often (but not always, to differentiate what I said above) have in common is a higher IQ and higher levels of education on average than theists. It's true, studies have been done on the subject. Also, most atheists tend to be more skeptical and less gullible on average, but that pretty much goes without saying.

P.S. Christians are almost atheists themselves--to paraphrase a wise man, once you realize why you don't believe in Zeus, Apollo, Wotan, or Odin, you will understand why I don't believe in your God.

Atheists just disbelieve one more god than Christians do.

1. Atheism is a singular position on transcendent beings, not a worldviews. There are no ethics or philosohpies to discuss other then "no gods exist" for Atheism.

2. In regards to personal ethics and philosophy, there have been many atheists elaborating on their views... in past posts.

3.Atheists talk about this for two reasons:

(1). Theism today is having a major impact on society and politics. Not talking is the equivalent to allowing society and government to exclude Atheists from representation.

(2). There is a general interest in people to discuss religion and its merits. Its why Atheists debate with Theists, its why Theists debate with Atheists.

enough said.

(PS: I don't get what your topic title has to do with your actual question. Was it just to grab people's attantion?)

I must preface my remarks by saying that you have clearly not read all of the posts in this forum because I have read questions and answers where atheists have discussed their views on ethics, principles, morals, and other philosophical topics.
If it were proven to humanity's unanimous satisfaction that there were no god, then obviously the debate between theists and nontheists would no longer be necessary nor relevant; other subjects of differing concepts would be pursued. If you are a theist, which I assume, what would you discuss if it were determined that god is dead??

Atheism is only that one thing: religion is extremely improbable and is simply a collection of harmful fairytales.

What would we talk about without religion, and if everyone is atheists? We'd have civil conversations about all kinds of things, music, movies, science, life, friendships, philosophies, and so on. Go to Sweden where it's like 90% atheists, obviously they're having normal conversations on a daily basis.

The only thing is that there wouldn't be an R&S Y!A (though likely just a Spirituality board) and nobody spreading distortion and lies about history and observable reality.

Plus there would be no terrorism and crime/immorality/stds/abortions/etc. would drop to almost non-existence.

i don't believe there is a shared ethical philosophy that would encompass all atheists. atheist simply means you don't believe in god/gods. what you're saying is because i don't like one thing, me and everyone who doesn't like must like the same thing. so if me and a group of my friends don't like vanilla ice cream, that's saying that we must all like chocolate. that's an unfair assumption to make. i can't speak for my friends though. just because they don't like vanilla doesn't necessarily mean they like chocolate. does that make sense. i think you're equating atheists with humanists. a fair assumption since most atheist practice that philosophy, but a lot don't. so you shouldn't group everyone together on that. i'm not familiar with much slander coming from atheists. i do see a lot of logical retorts which question people who say they're going to burn for all eternity because they don't believe in christianity. you can hardly say those retorts are unwarranted, right? finally, if there was no god, doesn't mean that we'd all have the same point of view, and thus we'd have nothing to talk about. what do people at church talk about? is it fair to assume that because everyone at church believes in god, there is nothing to talk about there? so what do you do? you go for an hour a week and don't sit quietly while nobody says anything?

Are you suggesting there's nothing to talk about except for religion and spiritual belief? How about politics, music, entertainment, sports, the economy, the environment, family, ethics, rationality, science, the nature of the universe, philosophy, starvation, illness. Should I go on? Do believers have a monopoly on conversation? I don't get you.
I'm agnostic, and I, and my agnostic and atheist friends, have lots to say, believe me.

I've never thought about "principles of atheism". I'm only an atheist here on Yahoo Answers. Everywhere else I'm an agnostic, but here it's a two-lane road--you're an atheist or a theist. I have never said anything nasty about religion.

What would we talk about? All the rest of the topics on Yahoo Answers, and more.

I have yet to read where Atheists have denied christianity. They have asked for proof of your assertions and ridicule your fantasieis, but they don't deny christianity. That is something from your over active imagination. As far as what I would have to say? I would talk about all of the other possibilities of the universe and what is basic morality, not a hellfire and brimestone based morality.

No atheism is quite alive and well served by dishonest rants such as yours. Whether you're a misguided theist or an atheist troll, blatant pronouncements contrary to fact only serve those you slander, not those who you dishonestly claim are slandered.
