A liberals way of standing ground without the respect of life. As long as their agenda to kill America and it's value system are in tact. They will fight to the end to keep it legal. This is why so many dumb butts are liberal. Most educated well thought people are conservative. Most Conservatives have good jobs and therefore pay the majority of the taxes. This in turn means politicians vote for tax cuts and Libs vote for tax hikes to further the agenda of lazy worthless bimbos that prefer to live off the gov and take advantage.
If you think about it, It's easy to hate the conservatives cuz their rich and drive nice cars past the poor kids on the short bus....
Liberalsism stinks!!!

I know you've received more than enough answers but I feel compelled to at least present something unbiased.
The procedure everyone has described is correct. But I think people should have left out the morality on whether it's "barbaric" or not.
Sometimes people do need to terminate their pregnancies even after the first trimester. (By the way, it is absolutely incorrect to say that partial birth abortions are only performed on babies that could have survived outside the womb. It only means an abortion beyond the first trimester so you can abort a four-month old fetus that absolutely would not survive outside the womb.) One reason for a partial birth abortion could be a late term miscarriage. If you have a dead baby inside you, wouldn't you want to extract it? A D&X procedure would be absolutely appropriate in that case or they will have to perform a c-section because the baby is too big by then. Or if complications develop during the second trimester such that the mother's health is at stake, would you rather have both the mother and baby die together?
Don't get me wrong, I am pro-life and am expecting my first. I just thought you should get an informed and unbiased opinion.

Here is a link with unbiased information on it:

Laws to ban this uniquely controversial late-term abortion procedure have been passed in at least thirty states, including: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, Ohio, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. The Utah statute applies only after viability (as defined by the statute). Additionally, Massachusetts and Indiana have a specific ban on state funding of these procedures.

Also knows as Intact D&X (D&X= dilation and extraction), partial birth abortion first involves administration of medication to dilate the cervix of the mother. If labor doesn't begin on its own when the bag of waters is cut, pitocin may be administered to begin contractions. Using forceps, the physician rotates the fetus to a footling breech position (feet first). S/he is then drawn out of the uterus until only the head remains inside the uterus. (Thus s/he is "partially born.") Then, the physician uses a sharp instrument to puncture the base of the skull. A suction currette (sharp, curved knife attached to vacuum machine) is inserted into the skull and the contents of the fetal head (brain, pituitary etc.) are then suctioned out, which results in the death of the fetus and collapses the fetal head so that it passes easily. The body of the dead but otherwise intact fetus is then removed from the woman's body.

You are an adult and don't know what partial birth abortion is? Must be from a red state.

Basically, it's killing a baby (that's old enough that it could possibly survive if delivered) that's head has been delivered by performing some type of trauma to their skull and brain.

It is completely and totally barbaric.

It's not legal anymore! Thank God! I know, it's hard to believe that was legal up until a few days ago. I'm so grateful that I won't ever have to explain to my baby girl why that is legal in America.

when half of the fetus is expelled from the birth canal then aborted (they do this in later-term abortions because the fetus is too big) very sad but unfortunatly true
