Or what if the Bible god actually existed, and he did stufff like magic tricks for Moses, changing his rod into a snake and back again; or divine vengance, like turning bears loose on a group of children cause they teased an old holy ogre; or widescale scares, like threatening the earth with a curse every now and then?
Would atheists still deny that stuff if it was actually true?

I SAY YES, CAUSE THEY ARE CONTRARY-- WHAT SAY YOU, YOU YAHOO ANSWERS PEOPLE?

Who will join me in denouncing the atheists today?

Oh and by the way, you church people who tried to answer this question: No, there is no god; and it is even less likely that your Fascist and emotional wreck Bible god exists.

As I am a philosophy major, I will try to explain how I've come to understand the theist/atheist situation.

We don't waste our time trying to deny the existance of a creator, first spark, etc. There isn't enough scientific evidence either way to say definitively one way or the other. Instead we attempt to find the logical contradictions in how god is perceived by religions. The Christianity God is omni and independent. I argue that if something is truely independent, it has no dependancies. However, they also claim that from his own will he created man- but the contradiction lies thus. In order for Christianity God to create life, he requires logic and reason, regardless how advanced and beyond our comprehension that maybe.

I don't claim to be a great mind and as a novice in the area I encourage people to disagree.

Yes, atheists do not believe that God exists.
If anyone could prove that God exists, then atheists would believe in God.
They are not going to believe in God based on a 2000 year old book that was written by superstitious middle-eastern sheep herders. They have no reason to believe that anything listed above is anything but fiction. Show them proof of it being real, and sure, they will believe.

If there was even a shred of evidence that anything miraculous, as described in the bible, were true... I would cease to be an atheist.

Trust me, I searched high and low. Atheism was not a choice for me. Just as you presumably can't make yourself believe in Santa Claus, nor can I believe in your god.

Why? Because apparently I have studied religion (and related science) a bit more than you have.

I refuse to denounce anyone based on what they do or don't believe about God. "Live and Let Live," that is my credo. I don't honestly give a rat's *** what atheists think about God. It is only important to me what I believe, and it is not necessary for me to go proselytizing and trying to shove my beliefs down anyone's throat in order for me to be happy in my faith even though I know the Bible says that this is what I must do. Some people have it in them to be evangelists. I do not. I hope that people can see God in me by the way I treat everyone and by the way I live my life. I just cannot be the one to force Him on everyone.

Prove there's a God and there will be no atheists. Put up or shut up.

We "deny that stuff" because it is blindingly obvious that it is NOT true. Bring on your God and lets see a few magic tricks.

Who will join me in denouncing willful ignorance and denial of the truth by fools who worship a non-existent magician?

How is that any different then what's going on now?

If there was hard cold solid proof backed up by science of any God, then I wouldn't be an atheist.

Any other attempts to denounce atheism?

There is no god, but that doesn't stop people from believing in God. Same question.

The hypothesis isn't really worth working through. No God - so no need to affirm or deny.
