My 21st birthday is tomorrow; my driver's license says that it expires on May 5, 2007 (which is tomorrow). It also still says "under 21" on it....will I be able to get alcohol on my birthday tomorrow with my driver's license, or do I have to get a new one first (is the dmv even open on Saturdays???)? HELP! lol

You have to go get a new one!

The old one expires on your 21st b-day so that the situation of a person over 21 having an id that says "under 21" won't come up. :)

Happy Birthday. Have fun!

I bought beer with a "under 21" license minutes after turning 21. And if the license expires tomorrow it is good until tomorrow ends.

Yes you will be able to they will jus have to look at the birthday. Make sure that you change your liscense ASAP though. Some states allow you 30-60 days after your 21st to change it or you get fined. Happy early birthday and remember take a cab home if you go somewhere. About the expiration if it expires tomorrow you will be fine through tomorrow you should look at the DMV web site to see if they are open tomorrow. Most people will not worry so much about the expiration it is the DOB that is important.

Someone my give you a hassle when they see "under 21", but then you would just have to tell them to look at your birthday and they will see why your id says "under 21".

I have been a barmaid for 10 years, and a barmaid doesn't care if your id is expired or not, because your birthday will never change.

Yes. You should be able to. They might question you about the under 21, but if your ID doesn't look altered you just point out that it's your birthday. When that happened to me they just said "Oh, happy birthday!" and rang up my beer.

Since it technically expires at midnight, you should be fine. Paint the town red if you want, but just remember the importance of a designated driver.

Happy Birthday!

What state are you in? usually you have until the end of the month! Your ID must be valid, which aparently it won't be tomorrow, so you won't be able to buy alcohol. I used to bartend!!!! All DMVs are open on Saturdays, go early 8:30am or whenever they open!!!!!!!!!!

Just remind the cashier kindly that the date is May 5th, 2007 and that the license does not automatically update itself. "This isnt the year 3000 buddy, now just let me buy the damn Jack Daniels"

Well, if you live in Chesterfield va. They are open on saturdays. And if it says under 21, you may have to get a guardian.
