No distinction intolerance breeds dissention breeds hatred breeds violence. Atheists make accusations hostile to faith for killing by using intolerance, besides the indisputable fact that the reality is every time atheism has been on the top of a authoritarian regime a blood bath resulted. illiberal international perspectives (non secular or atheistic) + Political capacity = massacre.

I don't believe they are although if you look back in history many strong Extremists have fought for their belifs every religon does so but Christians have documented theres more than others (the crusades)

I think the reality is people don't like change!

People can't understand those which are different to them!

and instead of embracing these they build barriers and buck.

I don't think it's Many, it's more likely only the loony fringe of fundamentalists and creationists. Most Christians are fair-minded and tolerant, but in any religion you'll always get the nutters.

Good things can help and hurt. Like in Spiderman 3 (I'm not going to say it but there is a bit that is quite relevent) Gods truth can give people courage and strength but it can also give people ignorance and small mindedness. Everything has a good and a bad side to it. Except of course God Himself.

most overly religious people are bitter about something normally their lives, so they turn to religion and become so integrated in their own beliefs they will not listen to anyone Else's opinion. i live in a small village and the ones who are at church the most kissing the fathers ring (ha ha) are the most poisonous gossips in the town. i would go as far as to say that they were evil, work that one out.

Because when you believe in something you think you are right and anyone who thinks differently is wrong. It's silly for anyone to think that religions can be tolerant of each other when fundamentally there is no room for that!
