Most people would say of course but I have been to a few not so spirit filled churches where I think he would be looked down on and talked about behind his back. So what say you?

We have street people who come to our church. Also goths, businessmen, rappers, farmers in overalls, politicians, and people of all imaginable ethnic groups and occupations. If He came to visit (and was not in a glorified body or announcing Himself as Christ, but was just visiting in the form of a regular man), He'd probably blend right in. There are so many different types of people at church that He'd have to make an effort to look seriously unusual to even draw a passing moment's comment.

Dear h20,

I am not sure what you mean by "accepted." If you mean "loved", I can say absolutely, NO! Jesus says in John 14:15, "If ye love me, keep my commandments." In verse 21 we also read, "He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him."

There is NO Church that has kept God's commandments. Look back at Revelation 2 & 3. These 7 churches were only 60 years old and all of them had departed form the truth. Today, there are women pastors, homosexual marriages, idols in the church, divorce, disobedience to the Sunday Sabbath, etc. In fact, the church age ended in 1988. That is the Holy Spirit has departed from the ALL the churches so that absolutely NO ONE can be saved regardless of the accuracy of the preaching (2 Thessalonians 2). God has allowed satan to now rule in the churches, yet most people do not know it. If you read the Bible, you will know that satan's desire was to be "like the Most High" (Isaiah 14:9-15). Satan was given rule in the world after the fall of Adam and Eve but he could not rule in the churches. The Holy Spirit was in the churches to apply the word to those whom God had elected to salvation. Because the people in the churches would not repent of their sins, God brought judgment on the earthly representation of the kingdom of God (1 Peter 4:17). Those who remain in the churches are being sent a strong delusion that they will believe satan's lie (2 Thessaloinas 2:11).

God has commanded all true believers to leave the local churches (Matthew 24:15, 16; Revelation 18:4).

If you are not saved, start reading the Bible slowly and prayerfully asking the Lord to have mercy on you. This will not get you saved but the Lord will know of your desire. You must wait on the Lord because He is the only One who can save a person. He is Sovereign.

There are a lot of stories that allude to this passing around the internet all the time. That he would be seen as dirty, maybe a homeless person, etc. They are just stories, but maybe some churches would behave that way.

Still, my honest answer is that if Jesus appeared in any church there would be celebration and happiness and he would be welcomed with open arms. There maybe a few judgmental people who would sneak out the side door, lol.

Are you thinking of this because of that great Todd Agnew song ("My Jesus")?

I'm not real sure, to tell you the truth. My church, as any, has many faults. We have had a number of homeless people come to our church, some fairly frequently. But with them, its only a small number to greet them and truly talk to them and try to offer them love. Like 5% maybe?

Our churches should be places of love. And although their homes for sinners, they should also be places where we practice love and grow in Christ.

Thanks for the question. God bless!

I couldn't agree more. Too many churches today think of themselves like you would a country club, it's a great social outlet. The doors of any church should be open and welcoming to any sinner. Many, unfortunately are not.

The Westboro "Baptist" Church (aka the Evil Angels as they like to call themselves) would call him a **g for having long hair and then spit in his face. According to them: Only the Phelps family and 5 others are going to heaven and everyone else, including Jesus himself, is a dirty, worthless **g whom God hates.

Sometimes I like to think they are just putting on a show but, unfortunately, they are probably being honest.

If he dropped in and it turned out he is a god after all then you wouldn't be in a position to accept him. It's his house. The congregation has to ask if they would be accepted in his church.

Churches whose Lord & Savior isn't Jesus Christ aren't true Christian Churches.

The oil lamp isn't burning in those churches. They are dead churches.
