POSITIVE ACTIONS
if you want to help the planet ,plant a tree every week ,if everyone on the planet did we we would be able to slowdown the destructive processes
reduce carbon emisions, and they are already working on that by alternative forms of energy and regulations on carbon producing materials, aerosol cans, burning rubbish, industrial chimneys, powerplants etc.
the capture of carbon and the production of water and assist the aquiferous manta.
the world bank pays large subsidies for reforrestation to capture carbon and the best tree for this is the Pawlonia
Waterharvesting projects ,such as millions of small dams.to redirect over ground waterflows from the rains into the ground to supply subteranian water supplies.
the protection of existing forrests.
stop building more highways, urban planning to include vegetation stop building cities encourage people to return to the land to conduct their business from there which now has become possible thanks to the internet.
education to motivate people to auto sufficiency by building more home food gardens.
education on environmental awareness
education on family planning to curb over´populaion
Agricultural education and improvements to follow the principals or sustainability and soil management.
more environmental or land ,design to prevent bush fires, such as--fire breaks
,more dams.regulations and control for public behaviour
alternative effeciant public transport to discourage the use of the internal conbustion engine
recicling wastes,limit water use
here are a 100 more ways

Global warming is real and a very serious matter. Ultimately, big businesses and utility companies contribute the most to this chronic destruction of our most valuable resourcees. We must all conserve by using less power, driving less, and various other things. But the bottom line is that more people need to become involved via lobbying, rallying, writing our politicians...whatever ideas you have that send the message to stop the madness. There are underground explosions occurring in Area 21 (have been for years) in an attempt to control the weather, non-compliant disposition of dangerous chemicals into our oceans, lakes and rivers, dumping non-biodegradable items and waste for landfill, polluting our streams, the list is endless. Irreversible damages have already occurred...we must do something now or our children's children will have no chance.
I also want to add that politics as we know it must be changed dramatically. Did you all know that back in the 1950s, an engineer with Ford Motor Co actually invented a car motor that ran on fossil fuel? Imagine how sophisticated those autos would be today! Not to mention the money we all would have been saving on overpriced oil and gasoline. Isnt it funny that it was never allowed to be manufactured because our fine politicians kept it a secret - and why? because the oil companies wouldnt make any money. And we all know that our fine politicians make most of their money via grafts and palm greasing. Look up what Im telling you...its a matter of doing a little investigating. Other things youll discover during your research will make your blood boil.

One thing is not obvious, but it's very important.
Educate yourself on global warming so that you can refute the arguments of the skeptics. Here's are two excellent places to start, short and long:
http://www.globalwarmingart.com/wiki/Image:Climate_Change_Attribution.png
http://profend.com/global-warming/
Keep current on global warming.
Become a source of knowledge about global warming and spread that knowledge. Fight the ignorance about this issue.
Here's a good book to help you:
http://www.amazon.com/Stop-Global-Warming-Solution-Speakers/dp/155591621X/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/103-3095021-7940653?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1178299803&sr=8-1
For example, someone above says "it's the sun". The first graph above shows that the sun is only about 10% of it, using verified and peer reviewed data. Here's more showing it's not the sun:
http://solar-center.stanford.edu/sun-on-earth/FAQ2.html
If one of your friends says, "it's the sun", tell them about the data. Point out that the sun is studied all the time and that the global warming scientists have considered it thoroughly and say it's only a minor factor.
Read the three IPCC reports (this is not easy). They're written by scientists, although the politicians "sign off" on them. The scientists are pretty successful at keeping the science good. The politicians don't make the reports more alarming, they tone them down.

Develop a source of alternative energy. There are plans on the internet for making generators from used car alternators. A human-powered generator can produce about 600 watts; micro hydropower and wind power are other sources of energy that can be utilized at a household level. You will learn a lot about the environment, science and technology, and gain some new skills also.

Actually, I think it is just the normal variation in temperature. Just a few short years ago they were talking about the coming ice age. I don't think there is any reason to panic. Besides the changes that we would have to make to supposedly "fix" it would cost trillions of dollars and have virtually no effect. A lot of the fixes are welfare for 3rd world countries. I'm not a scientist, but I am a thinker.

a lot of persons have spoken approximately this. fairly, there is an advert on in Australia approximately it. apparently, cows (quite) produce a methane gasoline which contributes to a million/3 of our worldwide warming situation.

Actually if you ask most neocons they will say that global warming is a hoax and that a warmer planet means less chance on another ice age. HMMMM Who to believe?

Energy-saving cars like the prius, appliances with the earth friendly sticker, use natural gas to heat water and stove in the house, build homes with recyclable materials, and just find ways to conserve everyday, such as walking more or car pooling for transportation..not just to save energy, but helps you save money and get some exercise sometimes too.

I use fans and open the windows on certain days instead of running my central AC, but the place I live in AC is as valuable as water.
I have replaced all of my lightbulbs with energy saving bulbs, which also saves me from paying high energy bills.
