Its not cancer!
But it may be carbon monoxide leaking into the room. Get the chimney checked and buy one of those little alarms that you can put in the room to dedect it. It is odourless and can kill- you just fall asleep.
Make sure the chiney is not blocked, that there is a propewr draw into the fire and the logs are dry. You should phone your local fire station for advice too.
Please don't light it again until you have done these things

I hope this is a joke.

If not, it's most likely the heater exhaust flue is not working properly. It may be plugged or disconnected. Do not stay in the room while the heater is on again until the problem is fixed. You could die. If the heater is on, shut it off and open a window in the room and stay near it.

It probably isn't cancer. If the chimney isn't swept often enough the smoke can build up in the house and cause you to get sick. But if you were in your room, you should have been able to see the smoke. I think you're worried about nothing. But if this doesn't help then go get checked to prove my point. You probable are coming down with the flue or something.

This could be so many things. I wouldn't really worry about it being cancer though. Symptoms wouldn't show this fast. It takes months for this to happen, sometimes years. See your Md tomorrow if you don't feel better by then.

It could be that the flue fo the chimney was clogged and you breathed in carbon monoxide, I would seek medical attention.
