I swear, it just kills you Gordon fans that Junior is loved and respected by millions and your winner is loathed and ridiculed by even more doesn't it?
And dvs, the reason we are all here razzin' on each other IS because of the racin' , otherwise we would all be on the F1 board.
On second thought, even that would be too boring!
I would rather follow championship checkers. At least there is some strategy involved and you get to "knock" your opponents pieces off the board.
Gordon fans should just relish the present because in 10 years he will be long gone and we will all be wondering if an Earnhardt will win come Sunday.
Jeffrey Earnhardt, that's right; I said Jeff, is 17 and racing in the Busch East. In twenty years we all may be watching the other Jeff's records fall to an Earnhardt.

The fact that people don't like Gordon does not mean Jr is a better driver. In fact, the very fact they hate him proves that Gordon is better, because that is why they hate him. They know their driver doesn't cut the mustard when compared to Gordon, so they are jealous.

You can be a "true race fan" and still be as ignorant as all get out. They are true fans of Jr and Jr only, blind to the facts of Gordon's accomplishments. That's how come you always hear "He'll never be as good as Sr" or "Jr's the best, man."
midnight78dhs: Did I miss something, was DEI EVER strong? I'm trying to remember the last time they won a championship or had more than 1 driver in contention for it.

You can't, you just can't. I'm a fan of neither. It's not debateable that Jeff Gordon is the much better driver. Statistics dont lie. There is no plausible, reasonable or educated way of reasoning that Jr is better. None.

There is no proof that Junior is better than Gordon. Everyone likes Junior because his Daddy won 7 cups, and his last name is Earnhardt. Everybody thinks that Earnhardt and Gordon feuded. That is not true. Dale and Jeff were very good friends, even business partners. Until Junior can win a championship he is just another race car driver, who's daddy made a name for him.

I agree, I don't care for Jeff Gordon but he's 10 times the race car driver Dale Jr. is.

It is because some fans don't know or care about numbers.They say their driver is best because they like him the most.Most sports have this problem! Take college football,Michigan owns most records but some fans can't admit that they are better then their favorite team.In Baseball the Yankees(i hate them)are the best,as the records state,like it or not.Dale.Jr is good but Gordon is great!

They can say it BECAUSE they're TRUE race car fans. They are just supporting their driver. I'm DEFINITELY not a Jr. fan, but I totally believe that you should support your driver whether they win or lose !
