I would like to know what happens when you report an illegal.I hear alot of talk now a days about people wanting to report illegals. What if they don't have a criminal record & once you report them do people actually go & pick them up or what?It just seems to me like it could never happen considering all the other things immigration has to do(whatever they are).Does anyone really know by like experience or something?

If one were to report an illegal immigrant to the government, the INS (Immigration and Naturalization Service) would launch an investigation to check if the reported person was actually residing in the country illegally, and if it is so, then a team of enforcement agents would be sent out to the home of the illegal to begin the deportation process.

It depends on the situation. If your an emplyer and you suspect that one of your employees may be using false or a stolen social security card you can have them invetigated.

But to report any jo schmo off the street thats not gonna cut it.

I had a similar bit of information myself, a co-worker told me another co-worker was using a stolen SSN and I told her she had a responsibility to report it to HR. Seeing as the persons SSN shw was using was infact still alive it made it more plausable to report it. I told her if she didn't report it by the end of that week then I would od it for her. She reported it to HR they investigated it and informed the proper authorities. Couple weeks later she was picked up at work and last I heard deported...

Depending on who you report the illegal to.

Too bad all agencies aren't the same. These people should be put on a "black list" and if they ever show back up in America, be arrested and immediately deported again.

Come legally in the first place, and there will be no problems!

You're right that immigration has a lot to do. They will take the name you give them, or how you know them, if it comes up that they are already in the system they will decide what to do. If usually they aren't already looking for this person (or watching them) they won't do anything. They want people who are hurting the system first.

I live in a home converted to 3 apartments and the woman who lived upstairs was helping illegals. ICE came to the house until they caught the guy they were looking for. They had his name and hers. Our landlord evicted her and I guess they deported him. I did not report him but not sorry he got caught and she got evicted. I did report a temp service that was using illegals and they did come to the factory. They got 68 of them there and deported them. Now those jobs are filled with full time citizens instead of temp workers.

If you report an illegal alien to ICE Immigration and Customs Enforcement, they will go investigate and pick up and deport any illegal aliens at the site. It doesn't matter if they have a criminal history or not, the law states that if you are here illegally then you are breaking the law.

report them. dont be scared. don't listen to people that say mind your own business. that is your own business. apathy is not a solution or a virtue. its funny listening to people act as if it is.
