Are Tattoos Cool or Sexy?

I'm thinking about getting a tattoo on my neck...what do you think?

Honestly man, if you're doing it so people will think you're "cool" or "sexy" than don't get it, because not everyone will think so. As for the neck I have 3 there and I display them proudly because I am in fact proud of my tattoos. And in the end, that's all that matters. You have to be comfortable with it first off, and if you don't care that others will see it there than do it, it's not a bad place and I know alot of goodhearted and respectable people that have dozens of tattoos in extremely visible tattoos. It's about appreciating the art. There are side effects yes, on the neck a lot of places won't hire you if it's to be around a steady client/customer basis. People don't feel it's professional and really there's nothing to be done about that. But at the same time I work full time night retail and People love my tattoos. I also run a Photo studio and again people love it, gives them something to talk about while doing the pictures allowing for a more connected and comfortable setting.

Really just do you man, if it's what you really want than I along with many others support you 100%. Just be happy with it and be proud of it, cause if you can't do that then the tattoos not worth getting.

Personally, I wouldn't get a tattoo where people could see it all the time. I got my first tattoo on my ribs a few months ago for that reason. You also have to think about what you want to get and make sure it's meaningful to you. Make sure it's something original so no one else will have it except you. Don't get a tattoo just because it's cool or sexy.

I think that if you are "cool" or "sexy" you should know it without having to get a tattoo to prove it. On some people they look nice and other people they look like crap. I have several but I didnt get them because I thought that they would look cool or whatever, I got them because they all mean somthing to me. Remember that if you are getting a tattoo that you will be stuck with it for the rest of your life. You can have them lazer removed but that is painful and pretty expesive. Also you should get somthing that is easy to cover up in the event that you are ever in a place that it wouldnt be proper to have it sticking out.

I got my first tattoo on the back of my neck, it doesn't hurt much. Are you asking if the location would be good? Or if getting a tattoo will be cool or sexy. Get it cause you want it and get something that you identify with or unique to you. Something with your personal meaning. Just remember it's there forever. Make sure you love it!!

i think that if you want a tattoo for the purpose of being cool or sexy you are getting it for the wrong reason and you will become neither. tattoos don't make you who you are.

I think any tattoo on a guy is SEXY!!! I want my fiance to get a tattoo so bad but he is too chicken :( I have 4 tattoos and I love eachone of them

Neither one. Tattoos are painful and expensive. And you're thinking about getting one on your neck?? From what I understand, that is one of the most painful places to get one. Stop and think. Don't do that. I'm sure you can assert your individualism and self expression in a different way.

If you really want a tattoo, get one where you know you can hide it - tattoos on the neck are something everyone can see - get one somewhere where you can at least cover it up if you don't feel like someone seeing it, such as on your upperarm or something like that

well obviously there are a lot of people who think tats are cool, or else so many people wouldn't be getting them.

i have several. but.. there are standards.

don't get someone's named tattooed on you, unless it's like.. a dead brother or mother or your kid's or something. you know? no girlfriends. that's just skanky. and i also think the whole tribal and chinese symbol thing is *way* overdone.. everyone gets them.

if you are going to get a tat, have your artist draw out something unique no one else will have.

and make sure it's a tat that means something SPECIAL to you. don't just say 'oh i wanna get something that looks cool on my body' because, without meaning.. it won't look cool forever. most of my tats i have gotten with family so they have special meanings associated with them.

and no naked ladys. god. i hate tattoos with boobs and *** popping out all over the place. it's just so tacky.

so.... as long as you keep it meaningful and unique and tasteful... it should be great :)

Tattoos are neither cool or sexy. A person is either cool and sexy or they are not. Nothing you put on, permanent ink, clothing, or anything else is going to make you a different person. Visible tats are tacky!
