Sometimes people go to the doctor with a problem that turns out to be a multisystem problem. For example, in lupus, the skin, eyes, stomach and brain could be involved. Each of these areas has a specialist who can offer more skilled care than say a family doctor. Yet the family doctor may be needed if you develop the flu in addition to your other problems.
In general, there is no reason for a doctor to want you to see other doctors other than to get you the best care.

Not necessarily. Your family doctor, or general practioner, may have recommended you to specialist. While most doctors have a general idea of how to do something, for example a torn tendon, an orthropedic doctor specializes in it and has all knows even more about it. So depending on what the problem is, I don't think that it is a scam, but I do agree that it will be expensive.

It depends on what you are seeing the doctors for. If you started with an internist or general practitioner, he/she may have referred you to an ob/gyn for female problems, a gastroenterologist for digestive issues, and an ENT for sinus problems or allergies. Most general practitioners only handle these illnesses from a very basic standpoint. If your doctor feels you have something more complicated that needs to be looked at further, he or she will send you to a specialist.

They are all scams, please use your common sense, if it was as easy as that everyone would be doing it. The only way you can work from home is to either set up your own business or to become an employee of a company that will allow you to telecommute. If the odd opportunity arises now and again there are so many people subscribing to the internet that it will become worthless in an instant. There are things like affiliate marketing schemes, b

Well it can't be called exactly a scam. What you're suffering from may require a specialist of that specific part..
Say for example,if you have difficulty in urinating you're checked by a nephrologist (kidney specialist) and a urologist..bad example but I hope it helps..
Eventhough 1 doctor can treat you,it'd be better for him if you were checked by a specialist concerning your problem..

Total scam, that's how Doctors all get a piece of the same pie. You go to your general practioner...he/she says you need to see a specialist.

You go to the specialist..."Well I can help you with this problem, but you need to see Specialist #2 for your other problem"

In between each visit they probably tell you to back and see your GP. Welcome to the American Healthcare System.
