I think its made for great racing so far. I will just have to wait and see for the bigger tracks and road courses before I make a final judgement. So far though it races well, you can pass in places that you couldnt even think of before, evens the field. Its supposed to be safer because its bigger, the driver is farther away from the door, drive shaft is now enclosed, has energy reducing foam (hopefully they fix the burning part of it). Jeff Green ran well at all 3 races so far. Its obvious that some teams like Hendrick and Gibbs took it seriously and put out a great car. Once they stop switching back and forth beteen the 2 cars it will be cheaper because 1 car can run any track instead of building a different car for each track. Any time you can simplify something like car design and building its going to be cheaper.

I dont see why these people complain its not stock anymore. It hasnt been even close to stock in decades. Besides if they were stock bodies you would see dead drivers every season and nobody wants that or you would have to slow them down to under 100 mph.

Sucks! I don't know if anyone actually spent time with it in the wind tunnel. It aerodynamics is a complete mess. Send it over to Motorsports Engineering at UNC-Charlotte, the home of racing. Those kids can figure it out. NASCAR never will.

I hate that Hendrick is the only team that has a grasp of it.

And lets not even talk about looks. It looks like it should be driven by a guy named Eduardo and parked outside of an Autozone.

It is gonna have to be okay, but I think it will be maybe even better if all the drivers can have a Sponsor that will put the money into all thats needed for the c.o.t. That (I feel) is going to be lots more than in the past.

This year the C O T events are being used as an on track R&D test. Each team is on a learning curve with the cars. When completed and the car is being used all the time I think that this car will have a better saftey package for the driver, more contorllable at greater speeds(with a chance of doing away with restrictor plates). Also a more even plan to aid all teams and even up the the fields.

I think the C.O.T. makes the racing a lot better. Look at the finishes at Martinsville and Bristol, AWESOME. To me, it seems to have leveled the playing field. By all of the major teams having the same amount of time to work on them, it has shown the strength of each individual team. The only teams complaining are the ones who haven't figured out what works! Naturally, since Hendrick seems to have done that, people call them cheaters. It just go to show you what good communication and teamwork Will do for an organization.

You ask, here goes. The COT is not what Mr. France had in mind when he coined the name,NASCAR. He already knew that there were a lot of " special built " cars out there racing. He wanted to get a bunch of guys and race s STOCK cars. Something you could go down down and purchase. Sure, you could modify them and soup them up, but, they were to be stock automobiles that you or I could buy at any dealedship, anywhere in the U.S. This COT is not by no means, anything you could buy in any showroom. The young France kid has put an end to stock car racing as we all have known it for the past 50 years. This new car may be safer, but it is not a stock car and no manufacture is going to make one for you to buy anytime soon. I beleive the sport is starting to get more in line with Indy racing where all the cars look the same. It's my beleif that old man France has turned over in his grave several times now that we have this COT and, Toyota. Maybe they need to dig him up and check that out. If not for drivers like Stewart, J Gordon, Johnson, Burton and the other top drivers, I would give up watching.

As a fan I think it's fine. People will get to like it. It's alot safer in my opinion and if it was around before the Dale Earnhardt crash, he would probably still be alive today. The only thing I think they need to address is the front splitter. I feel that it sticks out just enough for a right front to puncture a tire on someone elses left rear. That's the only thing I see that is a problem. As far as the car, it's just a car. Once teams get a handle on it, nobody will even care.

too soon to tell, really. Only the teams with ungodly R & D budgets and huge engineering departments have a handle on the car, while the smaller teams are participating in a mass butt-scratching session while they try to "figger it out". I do think the COT will eventually make for better racing as the cars are more adjustable, especially aerodynamically, than the current cars. It will also eliminate some of the aero cheating that goes on now.

Here's an honest answer. Where's the "stock" in stock car racing? They use the same template on ALL of the cars. That means there is no difference in the bodies of the cars. I don't think that the bodies of the Impala, Fusion or Camry are that similar sitting on the showroom floor. So it makes it kinda like the Iroc race cars. So... if you can't tell I'm not a big fan of the new car.

well the current " stock cars" look nothing like a stock car that you can buy... i mean look at them... the noses are set way over to the side... look at them straight on..the grill and hood are further to the right and not centered.. the drivers side fender is larger than the left.. the cars havent been really close to stock since the early to mid 90's.. atleast the cot's do look closer to the cars you can buy off the showroom.. the impala and the fusion versions do to me anyways.. if anything with the common template it puts more emphasis back into engines and driver skills..
