i want to do a small memorial tattoo for my grandmother. Any good ideas?

what reminds you of your grandmother? if i were going to get one for mine i'd do a patch quilt because she makes tons of them and they are so special and artful and beautiful.
don't just get a generic memorial something like wings or a rose, definitely get something personal that reminds you of your grandmother.

If you really want to do something for your grandmother man, you shouldn't come to us. I'm sure people can provide you with a cool design or whatever or give you some websites to view, but in the end it has to be something that's connected to you and her. Something that shares the emotional bond you both had. The love for a grandmother and the love for a grandson. Memories you've had of her as a child, or her with your children, Something that will show everyone how dear she was to you, and something that you can look at and relive all the great times you've had together.

If you think about it like that, or something good that you've experienced with her(i.e something she was always fond of flowers n such) you'll have the perfect design in no time. It shouldn't matter about how it'll look to other people it's meant to convey how much you cared for your grandmother.

Sorry for your loss. I just recently lost my grandmother. The best memorial I could think of would be a portrait of her. The only picture that I have of her was taken at my wedding. This was a very happy time and it meant alot to me that she was there. I'll probably get a 4"x6" picture of her put on my forearm. This was I will always be able to remember her. Since the memorial tattoo will be with you forever take your time picking out the perfect tattoo.

Try to come up with something that symbolizes your grandma. For example, did she have a hobby? Maybe she liked to knit: you could get a little tattoo of knitting needles and yarn. Maybe she liked to read: get a little tattoo of a book.

Or maybe she had a place that she loved or always wanted to visit, get a tattoo that symbolizes the place. (E.g., maybe she loved Las Vegas: get a tattoo of some poker chips or a slot machine.)

Did she call you any nicknames or anything make you think of her? My friend got a ladybug tattoo in memory of her mom because her mom called her "ladybug."
Also, look up the flower for her birth month. If you like that, it could be a beautiful and meaningful tattoo.

Honestly, that is up to you what you get. It needs to be something that just makes you say, wow...thats it. when you see it. I am getting a cross on my shoulder blade with rip across the top and two banners, one saying my grandma's name and one saying palms 23, because before she died i went to see her and the last thing i ever got to say to her was that verse out of the bible, and that i love her and know God will take care of her. so it is really all about what really hits you when you see it. you just have to really look for it.

what personality did she have? One of my cousins used his mother's favorite bird to symbolize her strengths. He used a lot of color. When his grandfather died he got his other shoulder blade done with a wolf. He is an artist and put a lot of thought into both symbols. I think this is a perfect way to express your loss, but put a lot of thought into what you will get and why.
