I do not believe in original sin. If anyone is to "carry" the "blame" of the Holocaust then surely it would be everyone on earth and not Christians.
You want these questions to appear to come from atheists, but I suspect strongly they are coming from Muslims on this site who are trying to excuse the actions of those hiding behind the Islamic beliefs to try and take over the world as they have throughout known history.

I don't believe in it but if I did I would say that they wouldn't carry the sin of the holocaust. The reason being not all christians believed in what hitler was doing it was a nazi thing not a christian belief. Many survivors say they can't blame the younger generations of germany today. How can you? they weren't born yet it's like blaming a newborn white baby for slavery. Those who participated in the holocaust deserve to take all the blame, they deserve all of it, they made their own individual choices.

As for original sin Jesus took it away John the Baptist giving testimony concerning this issue. "The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the (sin of the world)" John 1:29.The sin of the world was the original sin that had been passed down by Adam. Jesus took that away and gave testimony to it when He was baptized by John. This restored man back to the original Adam.We become accountable once we realize what sin is, then we must repent and except Jesus.Adam became accountable the same way.It was when he realized that he was naked that he had sinned.Up until that time he was naked and did not know it.An infant or young child is unaware of sin or the fact that they are naked.
As for those who took part in the Holocaust their children probably did suffer from their parents sin.By setting such a horrible example for their children with their malicious ways I am sure that was passed down to their children. In many ways we make our children what they finally become.May God grant mercy to these children that they may see the error here and repent and except Jesus.

Would you like me to twist your argument back on you, or deny, or use the 'everyone is to blame' argument?
I'm sorry, seems like the Christian (always) right have gotten in ahead of me and done that.
They'll never give you a straight answer.
Pity.
Should they carry the sin of the Holocaust? No, not in my opinion. Simply because that ethnic cleansing was not about religion, so much as about 'race'. Hitler didn't decide the Jews had to die because he was even slightly Christian, he did it because they were Jews. To put it very simply.
In my opinion, it was a political and racist decision, as much as anything else. It's the same reason that Poles and Slavs and Gypsies died in the camps - they were 'subhuman' races.

I am unsure of the wording of your question, so my answer may or may not apply here....but I'm a Christian and I do believe in original sin, so I'll begin there.
Original sin means that we are all born not with just the ability to sin, but absolute response of sin in our lives. Each person will eventually sin (usually more than once). This is due to the fall of Adam and Eve. And if Adam and Eve had not sinned in the garden of Eden, someone else would have. Eventually sin would enter the world, and we, as the offspring of Adam and Eve also sin, as God cursed the land and the people. Basically He placed on us a consequence of this now "human nature."
This does not mean that every sin that occurrs by Christians or other folks, must be carried by us, as believers. But I tenderly agree with you that the Holocaust needs to be looked at carefully by us. Actually, by all people. For it was not beliefs in religion, that began such terrible cruelty and disaster. But belief in ones self, that bore it. Adolf Hitler was terrible and cruel. I have studied him, as I teach World history. Over and over again I have asked myself how such a person could ever make the choices that he did. But just because he "said" he was a Christian, does not mean that he was. Hitler hid behind Christianity to reach his goals of creating a world where people all looked a certain way. Had he succeeded in his plan, I doubt he ever would have been happy with his "creation" as it is my studied opinion that what Hitler really wanted was a world of people like himself Yes, even though the arian race truly even defied who he appeared to be) Christ gave words in the bible that clearly spoke what a Christian is, and the "fruit" that would be produced in their lives if they were a Christian. Hitler had none of this. In fact, he was the opposite of Christianity.
I hate the fact that the Holocaust ever happend. I ask my Lord constantly why He allowed this to be. But, my answer is always found in the beginning of creation of humans. He gave us the free will to choose. And just like Adam and Eve made a choice in the garden of Eden. So did Hitler and many other men and women who brought on terrible pain to all who were within their grasp. Just like you and I, we have the free choice to love God back, and be believers in His Son, but He will not make that choice for us. It has to be our own, and so must the consequences of our choice also be our own.
I'm not sure if I answered your question, becuase I don't really understand the question to begin with. But remember, one sin alone carries the penalty of death, if you are not a follower of Christ, according to Mosiac law. That is, the law before Christ came, and the law that even the Jewish Orthadox believe in to this day. Because of the death of Jesus, our sins (if we believe in Him and claim His redemption) are forgiven.
Spell check is not working (sorry).

I'm afraid I don't follow your reasoning. If all humanity is touched by original sin and its revolt, then all people, not just Christians, must deal with any tendencies to demonize other people and to tolerate killing off the innocent scapegoats of their fears amd hatreds and inconveniences.

No, because Christ paid the price for the Holocaust, therefore Christians don't need to "carry" it. That's the beauty of His sacrifice.

Why should I be held responsible for the Holocaust? It is people such as yourself that are anti-religious. Your logic is tainted with disdain.
